¹⁷ Let not your heart envy sinners: but be in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

⁴ A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

¹ Be you therefore followers of God, as dear children;

²² Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

²¹ For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

¹⁶ This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

¹³ For, brethren, you have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

²³ Drink no longer water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent illnesses.

² That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

⁴ You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

³ For the time past of our life will suffice us to have done the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in licentiousness, lusts, excess of wine, reveling, carousing, and abominable idolatries:

² And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

¹³ Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and wantonness, not in strife and envying. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

¹⁰ For do I now seek the favor of men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

¹⁵ See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but as wise, ¹⁶ Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. ¹⁷ Therefore be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. ¹⁸ And be not drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, impurity, licentiousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, wrath, selfishness, divisions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you beforehand, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
