⁵ When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.

⁷ And what man is there that has betrothed a wife, and has not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.

³ And the LORD said unto him, I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me: I have hallowed this house, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

¹⁴ House and riches are the inheritance from fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

⁴ Since you were precious in my sight, you have been honorable, and I have loved you: therefore will I give men for you, and people for your life.

⁶ Therefore they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.

³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loves is born of God, and knows God.

²² Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD.

⁶ Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm: for love is as strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: its flames are flames of fire, a most vehement flame.

¹² This is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you.

¹⁰ And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

⁸ And they two shall be one flesh: so then they are no more two, but one flesh.

¹ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. ² And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. ³ And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing. ⁴ Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, ⁵ Does not behave itself rudely, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, keeps no record of evil; ⁶ Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; ⁷ Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. ⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. ¹⁰ But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. ¹² For now we see in a mirror dimly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. ¹³ And now abides faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

³ Can two walk together, except they are agreed?

⁹ What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.

¹⁹ And I will betroth you unto me forever; yea, I will betroth you unto me in righteousness, and in justice, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. ²⁰ I will even betroth you unto me in faithfulness: and you shall know the LORD.

¹⁴ And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

⁹ Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor.
