³¹ Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for futility shall be his reward. ³² It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.

⁷ For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if you will hear his voice, ⁸ Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of trials in the wilderness: ⁹ When your fathers tested me, tried me, and saw my work. ¹⁰ Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: ¹¹ Unto whom I swore in my anger that they should not enter into my rest.

¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

¹⁵ Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

⁵ For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

²⁴ When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, I will return unto my house from which I came out.

³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ³⁹ Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creation, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹² There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

⁸ But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

¹ I charge you therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; ² Preach the word; be diligent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. ³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they draw to themselves teachers, having itching ears; ⁴ And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto myths. ⁵ But you watch in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fully carry out your ministry.

²⁸ Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.

¹ [A Psalm of David.] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not lack. ² He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. ³ He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. ⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. ⁵ You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. ⁶ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
