⁵ Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

¹² But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest you fall under judgment.

²⁵ And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, ²⁶ If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. ²⁷ And whosoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. ²⁸ For which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost, whether he has enough to finish it? ²⁹ Lest perhaps, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, ³⁰ Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. ³¹ Or what king, going to make war against another king, sits not down first, and consults whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand? ³² Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation, and desires conditions of peace. ³³ So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple. ³⁴ Salt is good: but if the salt has lost its taste, how shall it be restored? ³⁵ It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dung hill; but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

²³ And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

⁶² And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

⁶¹ Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

³ Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established.

⁵ Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

² If a man vows a vow unto the LORD, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.
