⁹ because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:

² Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations, ³ Knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. ⁴ And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come? ² My help cometh from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

¹ The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to bring good tidings unto the humble; He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the eyes to them that are bound; ² To proclaim the year of the LORD'S good pleasure, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; ³ To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the mantle of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called terebinths of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, wherein He might glory.

¹⁷ For though the fig-tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no food; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls; ¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will exult in the God of my salvation. ¹⁹ God, the Lord, is my strength, and He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and He maketh me to walk upon my high places. ¹⁹ Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath of God; for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord.

¹⁸ (34:19) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.

³³ These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
