¹¹ Unrighteous witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I know not.

¹⁶ Every scripture, inspired of God, is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness. ¹⁷ That the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.

¹³ But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them that fall asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as the rest, who have no hope.

¹⁷ He that breatheth forth truth uttereth righteousness; but a false witness deceit.

¹⁵ The thoughtless believeth every word; but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

¹¹ Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.

²⁶ For behold your calling, brethren, that not many wise after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: ²⁷ but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise, and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong, ²⁸ and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are: ²⁹ that no flesh should glory before God.

² So that thou make thine ear attend unto wisdom, and thy heart incline to discernment;

² Thus saith the LORD the Maker thereof, the LORD that formed it to establish it, the LORD is His name: ³ Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and will tell thee great things, and hidden, which thou knowest not.

² Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

² It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
