²⁰ And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the king's prisoners were bound; and he was there in the prison. ²¹ But the LORD was with Joseph, and showed kindness unto him, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. ²² And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it. ²³ The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand, because the LORD was with him; and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.

¹¹ Let the groaning of the prisoner come before Thee; according to the greatness of Thy power set free those that are appointed to death;

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the broken in heart, To proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

⁷ Who executeth justice for the oppressed; who giveth bread to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners;

²⁰ (102:21) To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

⁷ To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house.

¹ The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to bring good tidings unto the humble; He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the eyes to them that are bound;

³³ (69:34) For the LORD hearkeneth unto the needy, and despiseth not His prisoners.

³⁵ for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat, I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink, I was a stranger, and ye took me in, ³⁶ naked, and ye clothed me, I was sick, and ye visited me, I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink? ³⁸ And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? ³⁹ And when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me. ⁴¹ Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; ⁴² for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat, I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink, ⁴³ I was a stranger, and ye took me not in, naked, and ye clothed me not, sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. ⁴⁴ Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? ⁴⁵ Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me. ⁴⁶ And these shall go away into eternal punishment; but the righteous into eternal life.

³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them, them that are illtreated, as being yourselves also in the body.
