⁴ It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine: nor for princes to say: 'Where is strong drink?' ⁵ Lest they drink, and forget that which is decreed, and pervert the justice due to any that is afflicted. ⁶ Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto the bitter in soul; ⁷ Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. ⁸ Open thy mouth for the dumb, in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

²² and I will make them one nation in the land, upon the mountains of Israel, and one king shall be king to them all; and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all;

¹ The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever He will.

⁴ The king by justice establisheth the land; but he that exacteth gifts overthroweth it.

¹ Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers; for there is no power but of God, and the powers that be are ordained of God.
