¹⁷ No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their due reward from Me, saith the LORD.

³⁴ Be not therefore anxious for the morrow; for the morrow will be anxious for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

¹ Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. ² And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered. ³ And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. ⁴ But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. ⁵ Then the devil taketh him into the holy city, and he setteth him on the pinnacle of the temple, ⁶ and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down; for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee; and, On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone. ⁷ Jesus said unto him, Again it is written, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God. ⁸ Again, the devil taketh him unto an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them, ⁹ and he saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. ¹⁰ Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. ¹¹ Then the devil leaveth him, and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

²² And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

¹⁶ But I say, walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, for these are contrary the one to the other, that ye may not do the things that ye would.

¹³ I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me.

⁷ If thou doest well, shall it not be lifted up? and if thou doest not well, sin coucheth at the door; and unto thee is its desire, but thou mayest rule over it.'

⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy ways prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

¹⁴ (19:15) Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before Thee, O LORD, my Rock, and my Redeemer.

²⁴ No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. ²⁵ Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment? ²⁶ Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value then they? ²⁷ And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life? ²⁸ And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they toil not, neither do they spin; ²⁹ yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ³⁰ But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? ³¹ Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? ³² For after all these things do the Gentiles seek, for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. ³³ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. ³⁴ Be not therefore anxious for the morrow; for the morrow will be anxious for the things of itself. ³⁵ And this I say for your own profit, not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is seemly, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

¹⁵ I will meditate in Thy precepts, and have respect unto Thy ways.

³⁸ Now as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. ³⁹ And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. ⁴⁰ But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. ⁴¹ But Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things; ⁴² but one thing is needful; for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

¹³ There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.
