⁵ O LORD, the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup, Thou maintainest my lot. ⁶ The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. ⁷ I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel; yea, in the night seasons my reins instruct me. ⁸ I have set the LORD always before me; surely He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

⁷ (19:8) The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. ⁸ (19:9) The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. ⁹ (19:10) The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever; the ordinances of the LORD are true, they are righteous altogether; ¹⁰ (19:11) More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. ¹¹ (19:12) Moreover by them is Thy servant warned; in keeping of them there is great reward.

¹⁴ He maketh thy borders peace; He giveth thee in plenty the fat of wheat.

¹⁹ It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and fretful woman.

¹⁴ Thou beatest him with the rod, and wilt deliver his soul from the nether-world.

²⁸ but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

⁴⁹ For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. ⁵⁰ Salt is good; but if the salt have lost its saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace one with another.

⁴² And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it were better for him if a great millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. ⁴³ And if thy hand cause thee to stumble, cut it off; it is good for thee to enter into life maimed, rather than having thy two hands to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire, ⁴⁴ where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁵ And if thy foot cause thee to stumble, cut it off; it is good for thee to enter into life halt, rather than having thy two feet to be cast into hell, into the unquenchable fire, ⁴⁶ where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁷ And if thine eye cause thee to stumble, cast it out; it is good for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire, ⁴⁸ where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁹ For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. ⁵⁰ Salt is good; but if the salt have lost its saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace one with another.

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

² Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

¹ Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children, ² and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell. ³ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints, ⁴ nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting; but rather giving of thanks.

¹⁷ Let thy foot be seldom in thy neighbour's house; lest he be sated with thee, and hate thee.

¹ A soft answer turneth away wrath; but a grievous word stirreth up anger.

¹⁹ A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment; for if thou interpose, thou wilt add thereto.

²⁴ Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; and with a wrathful man thou shalt not go;

²⁶ and he made of one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation,

¹⁴ Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers; for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? or what communion hath light with darkness?

⁶ Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer each one.

⁵ For each man shall bear his own burden.
