¹⁴ when my people humble themselves—the ones who are called by my name—and pray, seek me, and turn away from their evil practices, I myself will listen from heaven, I will pardon their sins, and I will restore their land.

¹⁸ “I tell all of you with certainty, whatever you prohibit on earth will have been prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will have been permitted in heaven. ¹⁹ Furthermore, I tell all of you with certainty that if two of you agree on earth about anything you request, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven, ²⁰ because where two or three have come together in my name, I am there among them.”

⁷ “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you can ask for anything you want, and you’ll receive it.

²⁴ So far you haven’t asked for anything in my name. Keep asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.”

¹⁸ Then he prayed again, and the skies poured out rain, and the ground produced its crops.

⁵ Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to everyone generously without a rebuke, and it will be given to him.

⁹ If we make it our habit to confess our sins, in his faithful righteousness he forgives us for those sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

²⁴ That is why I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.

¹³ The Power of PrayerIs anyone among you suffering? He should keep on praying. Is anyone cheerful? He should keep reciting psalms.

³ You ask for something but do not get it because you ask for it for the wrong reason—for your own pleasure.

²² Whatever we request we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.

⁹ Therefore, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. ¹⁰ May your kingdom come. May your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. ¹¹ Give us today our daily bread, ¹² and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. ¹³ And never bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

⁸ Instructions to Men and WomenTherefore, I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without being angry or argumentative.

¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times with every kind of prayer and request. Likewise, be alert with your most diligent efforts and pray for all the saints.

¹⁶ Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sins to one another and to pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

⁶ Never worry about anything. Instead, in every situation let your petitions be made known to God through prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.

³ ‘Call to me and I’ll answer you, and will tell you about great and hidden things that you don’t know.’

¹⁷ Continually be prayerful.
