Deuteronomy 20:1-20

1 H3588 כי When H3318 תצא thou goest out H4421 למלחמה to battle H5921 על against H341 איבך thine enemies, H7200 וראית and seest H5483 סוס horses, H7393 ורכב and chariots, H5971 עם a people H7227 רב more H4480 ממך than H3808 לא thou, be not afraid H3372 תירא thou, be not afraid H1992 מהם H3588 כי them: for H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H5973 עמך with H5927 המעלך thee, which brought thee up H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים׃ of Egypt.

2 H1961 והיה And it shall be, H7126 כקרבכם when ye are come nigh H413 אל unto H4421 המלחמה the battle, H5066 ונגשׁ shall approach H3548 הכהן that the priest H1696 ודבר and speak H413 אל unto H5971 העם׃ the people,

3 H559 ואמר And shall say H413 אלהם unto H8085 שׁמע them, Hear, H3478 ישׂראל O Israel, H859 אתם ye H7131 קרבים approach H3117 היום this day H4421 למלחמה unto battle H5921 על against H341 איביכם your enemies: H408 אל let not H7401 ירך faint, H3824 לבבכם your hearts H408 אל not, H3372 תיראו fear H408 ואל and do not H2648 תחפזו tremble, H408 ואל neither H6206 תערצו be ye terrified H6440 מפניהם׃ because of

4 H3588 כי For H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיכם your God H1980 ההלך he that goeth H5973 עמכם with H3898 להלחם you, to fight H5973 לכם עם for you against H341 איביכם your enemies, H3467 להושׁיע to save H853 אתכם׃

5 H1696 ודברו shall speak H7860 השׁטרים And the officers H413 אל unto H5971 העם the people, H559 לאמר saying, H4310 מי What H376 האישׁ man H834 אשׁר that H1129 בנה hath built H1004 בית house, H2319 חדשׁ a new H3808 ולא and hath not H2596 חנכו dedicated H1980 ילך it? let him go H7725 וישׁב and return H1004 לביתו to his house, H6435 פן lest H4191 ימות he die H4421 במלחמה in the battle, H376 ואישׁ man H312 אחר and another H2596 יחנכנו׃ dedicate

Deuteronomy 20:9-20

9 H1961 והיה And it shall be, H3615 ככלת have made an end H7860 השׁטרים when the officers H1696 לדבר of speaking H413 אל unto H5971 העם the people, H6485 ופקדו that they shall make H8269 שׂרי captains H6635 צבאות of the armies H7218 בראשׁ to lead H5971 העם׃ the people.

10 H3588 כי When H7126 תקרב thou comest nigh H413 אל unto H5892 עיר a city H3898 להלחם to fight H5921 עליה against H7121 וקראת it, then proclaim H413 אליה unto H7965 לשׁלום׃ peace

12 H518 ואם And if H3808 לא it will make no peace H7999 תשׁלים it will make no peace H5973 עמך with H6213 ועשׂתה thee, but will make H5973 עמך against H4421 מלחמה war H6696 וצרת thee, then thou shalt besiege H5921 עליה׃ thee, then thou shalt besiege

6 H4310 ומי And what H376 האישׁ man H834 אשׁר that H5193 נטע hath planted H3754 כרם a vineyard, H3808 ולא and hath not H2490 חללו eaten H1980 ילך of it? let him go H7725 וישׁב and return H1004 לביתו unto his house, H6435 פן lest H4191 ימות he die H4421 במלחמה in the battle, H376 ואישׁ man H312 אחר and another H2490 יחללנו׃ eat

7 H4310 ומי And what H376 האישׁ man H834 אשׁר that H781 ארשׂ hath betrothed H802 אשׁה a wife, H3808 ולא and hath not H3947 לקחה taken H1980 ילך her? let him go H7725 וישׁב and return H1004 לביתו unto his house, H6435 פן lest H4191 ימות he die H4421 במלחמה in the battle, H376 ואישׁ man H312 אחר and another H3947 יקחנה׃ take

8 H3254 ויספו further H7860 השׁטרים And the officers H1696 לדבר shall speak H413 אל unto H5971 העם the people, H559 ואמרו and they shall say, H4310 מי What H376 האישׁ man H3373 הירא fearful H7390 ורך and fainthearted? H3824 הלבב and fainthearted? H1980 ילך let him go H7725 וישׁב and return H1004 לביתו unto his house, H3808 ולא lest H4549 ימס faint H853 את H3824 לבב heart H251 אחיו his brethren's H3824 כלבבו׃ as well as his heart.

Deuteronomy 20:11-20

11 H1961 והיה And it shall be, H518 אם if H7965 שׁלום of peace, H6030 תענך it make thee answer H6605 ופתחה and open H1961 לך והיה unto thee, then it shall be, H3605 כל all H5971 העם the people H4672 הנמצא found H1961 בה יהיו therein shall be H4522 לך למס tributaries H5647 ועבדוך׃ unto thee, and they shall serve

Deuteronomy 20:13-20

13 H5414 ונתנה hath delivered H3068 יהוה And when the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H3027 בידך it into thine hands, H5221 והכית thou shalt smite H853 את H3605 כל every H2138 זכורה male H6310 לפי thereof with the edge H2719 חרב׃ of the sword:

14 H7535 רק But H802 הנשׁים the women, H2945 והטף and the little ones, H929 והבהמה and the cattle, H3605 וכל and all H834 אשׁר that H1961 יהיה is H5892 בעיר in the city, H3605 כל all H7998 שׁללה the spoil H962 תבז thereof, shalt thou take H398 לך ואכלת unto thyself; and thou shalt eat H853 את H7998 שׁלל the spoil H341 איביך of thine enemies, H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתן hath given H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך׃ thy God

15 H3651 כן Thus H6213 תעשׂה shalt thou do H3605 לכל unto all H5892 הערים the cities H7350 הרחקת far off H4480 ממך from H3966 מאד very H834 אשׁר thee, which H3808 לא not H5892 מערי of the cities H1471 הגוים nations. H428 האלה of these H2007 הנה׃

16 H7535 רק But H5892 מערי of the cities H5971 העמים people, H428 האלה of these H834 אשׁר which H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H5414 נתן doth give H5159 לך נחלה thee an inheritance, H3808 לא nothing H2421 תחיה thou shalt save alive H3605 כל nothing H5397 נשׁמה׃ that breatheth:

17 H3588 כי But H2763 החרם thou shalt utterly destroy H2763 תחרימם thou shalt utterly destroy H2850 החתי them; the Hittites, H567 והאמרי and the Amorites, H3669 הכנעני the Canaanites, H6522 והפרזי and the Perizzites, H2340 החוי the Hivites, H2983 והיבוסי and the Jebusites; H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוך hath commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך׃ thy God

18 H4616 למען H834 אשׁר which H3808 לא you not H3925 ילמדו they teach H853 אתכם H6213 לעשׂות to do H3605 ככל after all H8441 תועבתם their abominations, H834 אשׁר H6213 עשׂו they have done H430 לאלהיהם unto their gods; H2398 וחטאתם so should ye sin H3068 ליהוה against the LORD H430 אלהיכם׃ your God.

19 H3588 כי When H6696 תצור thou shalt besiege H413 אל thou shalt besiege H5892 עיר a city H3117 ימים time, H7227 רבים a long H3898 להלחם in making war H5921 עליה against H8610 לתפשׂה it to take H3808 לא it, thou shalt not H7843 תשׁחית destroy H853 את H6086 עצה the trees H5080 לנדח thereof by forcing H5921 עליו against H1631 גרזן an axe H3588 כי them: for H4480 ממנו of H398 תאכל thou mayest eat H853 ואתו H3808 לא them, and thou shalt not H3772 תכרת H3588 כי (for H120 האדם man's H6086 עץ the tree H7704 השׂדה of the field H935 לבא H6440 מפניך H4692 במצור׃ in the siege:

20 H7535 רק Only H6086 עץ the trees H834 אשׁר which H3045 תדע thou knowest H3588 כי that H3808 לא not H6086 עץ trees H3978 מאכל for meat, H1931 הוא they H853 אתו H7843 תשׁחית thou shalt destroy H3772 וכרת and cut them down; H1129 ובנית and thou shalt build H4692 מצור bulwarks H5921 על against H5892 העיר the city H834 אשׁר that H1931 הוא that H6213 עשׂה maketh H5973 עמך with H4421 מלחמה war H5704 עד thee, until H3381 רדתה׃ it be subdued.

Deuteronomy 7:21

21 H3808 לא Thou shalt not H6206 תערץ be frightened H6440 מפניהם at H3588 כי them: for H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H7130 בקרבך among H410 אל God H1419 גדול you, a mighty H3372 ונורא׃ and terrible.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 H982 בטח Trust H413 אל in H3068 יהוה the LORD H3605 בכל with all H3820 לבך thine heart; H413 ואל unto H998 בינתך thine own understanding. H408 אל not H8172 תשׁען׃ and lean

6 H3605 בכל In all H1870 דרכיך thy ways H3045 דעהו acknowledge H1931 והוא him, and he H3474 יישׁר shall direct H734 ארחתיך׃ thy paths.

Isaiah 41:10

10 H408 אל thou not; H3372 תירא Fear H3588 כי for H5973 עמך with H589 אני I H408 אל thee: be not H8159 תשׁתע dismayed; H3588 כי for H589 אני I H430 אלהיך thy God: H553 אמצתיך I will strengthen H637 אף thee; yea, H5826 עזרתיך I will help H637 אף thee; yea, H8551 תמכתיך I will uphold H3225 בימין thee with the right hand H6664 צדקי׃ of my righteousness.
