³³ But whosoever shall disown me before men, him will I also disown before my Father who is in heaven.

³³ Again ye have heard that it was said to those of old, "Thou shalt not perjure thyself, but shalt perform to the Lord thine oaths:" ³⁴ But I say to thee, Swear not at all; neither by the heaven; for it is the throne of God: ³⁵ nor by the earth; for it is the footstool of his feet: nor by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King: ³⁶ neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black. ³⁷ But let your discourse be, Yea, yea; No, no: for all addition to these is from the wicked one.

³⁸ give, and there shall be given unto you; good measure pressed down, and shook, and running over, shall they give into your lap. For with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured back to you again.

¹² But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, nor by earth, nor by any other oath: but let your yea be yea, and your no, no; that ye fall not under condemnation.
