² And six days after Jesus taketh with him Peter and James and John, only, and carrieth them up with him into an exceeding high mountain in great privacy; and was transfigured before them. ³ His garments became glistering, exceeding white, like snow; such as no fuller upon earth can whiten. ⁴ And there appeared to him Elias with Moses: and they were conversing with Jesus. ⁵ Then Peter addressing him, said unto him, Master, it is desirable for us to be here: and let us erect three tents, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. ⁶ For he knew not what he should say: for they were very much affrighted. ⁷ And there came a cloud overshadowing them: and there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. ⁸ And instantly looking round, they saw no man any longer with them, but Jesus only.

²² Having however obtained help from God, unto this day, I stand witnessing both to small and great, saying nothing but what both the prophets and Moses said should come to pass:

²⁴ By faith Moses, when he became a grown man, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; ²⁵ choosing rather to suffer afflictions with the people of God, than to have a temporary fruition of sin; ²⁶ esteeming the reproach of Christ riches greater than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked earnestly to the recompence of reward.

²³ By faith Moses, after he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw the child singularly beautiful; and they were not intimidated by the command of the king. ²⁴ By faith Moses, when he became a grown man, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; ²⁵ choosing rather to suffer afflictions with the people of God, than to have a temporary fruition of sin; ²⁶ esteeming the reproach of Christ riches greater than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked earnestly to the recompence of reward. ²⁷ By faith he forsook Egypt, not intimidated by the wrath of the king: for he boldly persisted, as seeing the invisible [Jehovah]. ²⁸ By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the first-born might not touch them.

²² For Moses truly said unto the fathers, "A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you from among your brethren, like myself; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall speak to you.
