⁷ He put forth also a symilitude to the gestes, when he marked how they preased to the hyest roumes, and sayde vnto them: ⁸ When thou art bydden of anye man to a weddynge, syt not downe in the hyest rowme, lest a more honorable man then thou be bydden of him, ⁹ and he (that bade him and the) come, and saye to the: geue this man rowme, and thou then beginne wt shame to take the lowest rowme. ¹⁰ But rather when thou art bydden, go and syt in the lowest rowme: that when he that bade the, commeth, he maye saye vnto the: frende syt vp hyer. And he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted. ¹² Then sayde he also to hym, that had desired him to dyner: When thou makest a diner or a supper, call not thy frendes, nor thy brethren, nether thy kynsmen ner thy ryche neyghbours: lest they also bydde the agayne, and a recompence be made the. ¹³ But when thou makest a feast, call the poore, the feble, the lame, and the blynde, ¹⁴ & thou shalt be happy, for they can not recompence the But thou shalt be recompensed at the resurreccyon of the iuste men.

¹⁰ But why doest thou then iudge thy brother? Other, why doest thou despise thy brother? We shalbe all brought before the iudgement seate of Christ. ¹¹ For it is written: as truely as I lyue sayth the Lorde: all knees shall bowe to me, and all tonges shall geue prayse to God. ¹² So shall euery one of vs geue accomptes of hym selfe to God.

¹⁷ Obeye them that haue the ouer syght of you, & submyt your selues vnto them, for they watch for your soules, euen as they that must geue acomptes: that they maye do it with ioye, & not with grefe. For that is an vnproffitable thyng for you.

¹⁵ Study to shewe thy selfe laudable vnto God, a workman that nedeth not to be a shamed distributynge the worde of trueth iustly.

¹¹ A foole powreth out hys sprete altogether but a wyse man kepeth it in tyll afterwarde.

¹⁰⁵ Thy worde is a lanterne vnto my fete, and a lyght vnto my pathes.

²⁹ Take my yock vpon you, and lerne of me, for I am meke & lowly in herte: and ye shall fynde rest vnto youre soules.

⁴ Whosoeuer therfore humbleth him selfe, as this childe, the same is the greatest in the kyngdom of heauen.

⁶ Submyt youre selues therfore vnder the myghty hande of God, that he maye exalte you, when the tyme is come.

²¹ Wherfore laye a parte all fylthynes & superfluyte of maliciousnes, and receaue wt meknes, the worde that is graffed in you, which is able to saue your soules.

⁸ For by grace are ye made safe thorow fayth, and that not of youre selues. It is the gyfte of God,

² that they speake euyll of no man: that they be no fyghters, but gentle, shewynge all mekenes vnto all men.

² with all lowlynes and mekenesse, with humblenes of mynde, forbearynge one another thorowe loue,

⁸ But nowe put ye also awaye from you all soch thinges: wrath, fearnes, maliciousnes, cursed speakynge, fylthy communicacyon out of your mouth.

¹² But whosoeuer exalteth him selfe? shalbe brought lowe. And he that humbleth him selfe, shalbe exalted.

¹⁹ Wherfore (deare brethren) let euery man be swyfte to heare, slowe to speake, slowe to wrath. ²⁰ For the wrath of man worketh not that which is ryghteous before God.
