⁸ But God proves his love for us by the fact that Christ died for us when we were still sinners.

⁴ But God is so rich in mercy that because of the great love he had for us, ⁵ he made us, dead as we were through our offenses, live again with the Christ. It is by his mercy that you have been saved.

¹ Think what love the Father has had for us, in letting us be called God's children, for that is what we are. This is why the world does not know what we are—because it has never come to know him.
