¹⁹ Thou shalt not also go vnto a woman to vncouer her shame, as long as she is put apart for her disease. ²⁰ Moreouer, thou shalt not giue thy selfe to thy neighbours wife by carnall copulation, to be defiled with her. ²¹ Also thou shalt not giue thy children to offer them vnto Molech, neither shalt thou defile the name of thy God: for I am the Lord. ²² Thou shalt not lie with ye male as one lieth with a woman: for it is abomination. ²³ Thou shalt not also lie with any beast to bee defiled therewith, neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie downe thereto: for it is abomination.

¹⁷ There shalbe no whore of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a whore keeper of the sonnes of Israel.

³² But he that committeth adulterie with a woman, he is destitute of vnderstanding: he that doeth it, destroyeth his owne soule. ³³ He shall finde a wounde and dishonour, and his reproch shall neuer be put away.

¹ My sonne, hearken vnto my wisedome, and incline thine eare vnto my knowledge. ² That thou maiest regarde counsell, and thy lippes obserue knowledge. ³ For the lippes of a strange woman drop as an honie combe, and her mouth is more soft then oyle. ⁴ But the end of her is bitter as wormewood, and sharpe as a two edged sworde. ⁵ Her feete goe downe to death, and her steps take holde on hell. ⁶ She weigheth not the way of life: her paths are moueable: thou canst not knowe them. ⁷ Heare yee me nowe therefore, O children, and depart not from the wordes of my mouth. ⁸ Keepe thy way farre from her, and come not neere the doore of her house, ⁹ Least thou giue thine honor vnto others, and thy yeeres to the cruell: ¹⁰ Least the stranger should be silled with thy strength, and thy labours bee in the house of a stranger, ¹¹ And thou mourne at thine end, (when thou hast consumed thy flesh and thy bodie) ¹² And say, How haue I hated instruction, and mine heart despised correction! ¹³ And haue not obeied the voyce of them that taught mee, nor enclined mine eare to them that instructed me! ¹⁴ I was almost brought into all euil in ye mids of the Congregation and assemblie. ¹⁵ Drinke the water of thy cisterne, and of the riuers out of the middes of thine owne well. ¹⁶ Let thy fountaines flow foorth, and the riuers of waters in the streetes. ¹⁷ But let them bee thine, euen thine onely, and not the strangers with thee. ¹⁸ Let thy fountaine be blessed, and reioyce with the wife of thy youth. ¹⁹ Let her be as the louing hinde and pleasant roe: let her brests satisfie thee at all times, and delite in her loue continually. ²⁰ For why shouldest thou delite, my sonne, in a strange woman, or embrace the bosome of a stranger? ²¹ For the waies of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his pathes. ²² His owne iniquities shall take the wicked himselfe, and he shall be holden with the cordes of his owne sinne. ²³ Hee shall die for fault of instruction, and shall goe astray through his great follie.

²⁴ Now after three moneths, one tolde Iudah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the whore, and lo, with playing the whore, she is great with childe. Then Iudah saide, Bring ye her foorth and let her be burnt.

¹⁷ And the citie shalbe an execrable thing, both it, and all that are therein, vnto the Lord: onely Rahab the harlot shall liue, shee, and all that are with her in the house: for shee hid the messengers that we sent. ¹⁸ Notwithstanding, be ye ware of the execrable thing, lest ye make your selues execrable, and in taking of the execrable thing, make also the hoste of Israel execrable, and trouble it. ¹⁹ But all siluer, and gold, and vessels of brasse, and yron shalbe consecrate vnto the Lord, and shall come into the Lordes treasury. ²⁰ So the people shouted, whe they had blowen trumpets: for when the people had heard the sound of the trumpet, they shouted with a great shoute: and the wall fel downe flat: so the people went vp into the citie, euery man streight before him: and they tooke the citie. ²¹ And they vtterly destroyed all that was in the citie, both man and woman, yong, and olde, and oxe, and sheepe, and asse, with the edge of the sword. ²² But Ioshua had said vnto the two men that had spied out the countrey, Go into the harlots house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware to her. ²³ So the yong men that were spies, went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that shee had: also they brought out all her familie, and put them without the host of Israel. ²⁴ After they burnt the citie with fire, and all that was therein: onely the siluer and the gold, and the vessels of brasse and yron, they put vnto the treasure of the house of the Lord. ²⁵ So Ioshua saued Rahab the harlot, and her fathers houshold, and all that shee had; and shee dwelt in Israel euen vnto this day, because shee had hid the messengers, which Ioshua sent to spie out Iericho.

²⁶ For this cause God gaue them vp vnto vile affections: for euen their women did change the naturall vse into that which is against nature. ²⁷ And likewise also the men left the naturall vse of the woman, and burned in their lust one toward another, and man with man wrought filthinesse, and receiued in themselues such recompence of their errour, as was meete. ²⁸ For as they regarded not to acknowledge God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a reprobate minde, to doe those things which are not conuenient, ²⁹ Being full of all vnrighteousnesse, fornication, wickednes, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuie, of murder, of debate, of deceit, taking all things in the euill part, whisperers, ³⁰ Backbiters, haters of God, doers of wrong, proude, boasters, inuenters of euil things, disobedient to parents, without vnderstanding, couenant breakers, without naturall affection, such as can neuer be appeased, mercilesse. ³¹ Which men, though they knew ye Lawe of God, how that they which comit such things are worthie of death, yet not onely do the same, but also fauour them that doe them. ³²

¹ Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoeuer thou art that condemnest: for in that that thou condemnest another, thou condemnest thy selfe: for thou that condemnest, doest the same things.

¹⁹ Moreouer the workes of the flesh are manifest, which are adulterie, fornication, vncleannes, wantonnes, ²⁰ Idolatrie, witchcraft, hatred, debate, emulations, wrath, contentions, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Enuie, murthers, drunkennesse, gluttonie, and such like, whereof I tell you before, as I also haue tolde you before, that they which doe such things, shall not inherite the kingdome of God.

⁸ But the fearful and vnbeleeuing, and the abominable and murtherers, and whoremogers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall haue their part in the lake, which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

²⁴ There were also Sodomites in the lande, they did according to all the abominations of the nations, which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

⁷ As Sodom and Gomorrhe, and the cities about them, which in like maner as they did, committed fornication, and followed strange flesh, are set foorth for an ensample, and suffer the vengeance of eternall fire.

¹⁴ But a widowe, or a diuorced woman, or a polluted, or an harlot, these shall he not marrie, but shall take a maide of his owne people to wife:

²⁴ To keepe thee from the wicked woman, and from ye flatterie of ye tongue of a strange woman. ²⁵ Desire not her beautie in thine heart, neither let her take thee with her eye lids. ²⁶ For because of the whorish woman a man is brought to a morsell of bread, and a woman wil hunt for the precious life of a man.

²⁷ Ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of olde time, Thou shalt not commit adulterie. ²⁸ But I say vnto you, that whosoeuer looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adulterie with her already in his heart.

⁹ Knowe yee not that the vnrighteous shall not inherite the kingdome of God? Be not deceiued: neither fornicatours, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor wantons, nor buggerers, ¹⁰ Nor theeues, nor couetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners shall inherite the kingdome of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you: but yee are washed, but yee are sanctified, but yee are iustified in the Name of the Lord Iesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁷ There shalbe no whore of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a whore keeper of the sonnes of Israel. ¹⁸ Thou shalt neyther bring the hyre of a whore, nor the price of a dogge into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for euen both these are abomination vnto the Lord thy God.
