⁵ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and leane not vnto thine owne wisdome. ⁶ In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes. ⁷ Be not wise in thine owne eyes: but feare the Lord, and depart from euill. ⁸ So health shalbe vnto thy nauel, and marowe vnto thy bones. ⁹ Honour the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruites of all thine increase. ¹⁰ So shall thy barnes be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with newe wine.

⁴² But Iesus called them vnto him, and sayd to them, Ye know that they which are princes among the Gentiles, haue domination ouer them, and they that be great among them, exercise authoritie ouer them. ⁴³ But it shall not be so among you: but whosoeuer will be great among you, shall be your seruant. ⁴⁴ And whosoeuer will be chiefe of you, shall be the seruant of all. ⁴⁵ For euen the Sonne of man came not to be serued, but to serue, and to giue his life for the raunsome of many.

¹¹ I am that good shepheard: that good shepheard giueth his life for his sheepe.

¹² For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, which is one, though they be many, yet are but one body: euen so is Christ.

² And what things thou hast heard of me, by many witnesses, ye same deliuer to faithfull men, which shalbe able to teache other also.

¹³ I am able to do al things through the helpe of Christ, which strengtheneth me.

⁹ Let vs not therefore be weary of well doing: for in due season we shall reape, if we faint not.

³ Not as though ye were lords ouer Gods heritage, but that yee may bee ensamples to the flocke.

¹⁷ Obey them that haue the ouersight of you, and submit your selues: for they watche for your soules, as they that must giue accountes, that they may doe it with ioy, and not with griefe: for that is vnprofitable for you.

²¹ Moreouer, prouide thou among al the people men of courage, fearing God, men dealing truely, hating couetousnesse: and appoynt such ouer them to be rulers ouer thousandes, rulers ouer hundreths, rulers ouer fifties, and rulers ouer tennes.

¹ Woe be vnto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheepe of my pasture, saith the Lord.

²⁴ And there arose also a strife among them, which of them should seeme to be ye greatest. ²⁵ But hee saide vnto them, The Kings of the Gentiles reigne ouer them, and they that beare rule ouer them, are called bountifull. ²⁶ But yee shall not be so: but let the greatest among you be as the least: and the chiefest as he that serueth. ²⁷ For who is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serueth? Is not he that sitteth at table? And I am among you as he that serueth.

¹² So after he had washed their feete, and had taken his garments, and was set downe againe, he sayd vnto them, Knowe ye what I haue done to you? ¹³ Ye call me Master, and Lord, and ye say well: for so am I. ¹⁴ If I then your Lord, and Master, haue washed your feete, ye also ought to wash one an others feete. ¹⁵ For I haue giuen you an example, that ye should doe, euen as I haue done to you.

⁹ Let loue be without dissimulation. Abhorre that which is euill, and cleaue vnto that which is good. ¹⁰ Be affectioned to loue one another with brotherly loue. In giuing honour, goe one before another, ¹¹ Not slouthfull to do seruice: seruent in spirit seruing the Lord, ¹² Reioycing in hope, pacient in tribulation, continuing in prayer, ¹³ Distributing vnto the necessities of the Saintes: giuing your selues to hospitalitie.

¹ This is a true saying, If any man desire the office of a Bishop, he desireth a worthie worke. ² A Bishop therefore must be vnreproueable, the husband of one wife, watching, temperate, modest, harberous, apt to teache, ³ Not giuen to wine, no striker, not giuen to filthy lucre, but gentle, no fighter, not couetous, ⁴ One that can rule his owne house honestly, hauing children vnder obedience with all honestie. ⁵ For if any cannot rule his owne house, how shall he care for the Church of God? ⁶ He may not be a yong scholer, lest he being puffed vp fall into the condemnation of the deuill. ⁷ He must also be well reported of, euen of them which are without, lest he fall into rebuke, and the snare of the deuill.

³ That nothing be done through contention or vaine glory, but that in meekenesse of minde euery man esteeme other better then himselfe.

¹² Let no man despise thy youth, but be vnto them that beleeue, an ensample, in worde, in conuersation, in loue, in spirit, in faith, and in purenesse.
