¹³ But when thou makest a feast, call ye poore, the maimed, the lame, and the blind, ¹⁴ And thou shalt be blessed, because they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the iust.

¹ The Parables of Salomon the sonne of Dauid King of Israel, ² To knowe wisdome, and instruction, to vnderstand ye wordes of knowledge, ³ To receiue instruction to do wisely, by iustice and iudgement and equitie, ⁴ To giue vnto the simple, sharpenesse of wit, and to the childe knowledge and discretion. ⁵ A wise man shall heare and increase in learning, and a man of vnderstanding shall attayne vnto wise counsels, ⁶ To vnderstand a parable, and the interpretation, the wordes of ye wise, and their darke sayings. ⁷ The feare of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fooles despise wisedome and instruction. ⁸ My sonne, heare thy fathers instruction, and forsake not thy mothers teaching. ⁹ For they shalbe a comely ornament vnto thine head, and as chaines for thy necke. ¹⁰ My sonne, if sinners doe intise thee, consent thou not. ¹¹ If they say, Come with vs, we will lay waite for blood, and lie priuilie for the innocent without a cause: ¹² We wil swallow them vp aliue like a graue euen whole, as those that goe downe into the pit: ¹³ We shall finde all precious riches, and fill our houses with spoyle: ¹⁴ Cast in thy lot among vs: we will all haue one purse: ¹⁵ My sonne, walke not thou in the way with them: refraine thy foote from their path. ¹⁶ For their feete runne to euill, and make haste to shed blood. ¹⁷ Certainely as without cause the net is spred before the eyes of all that hath wing: ¹⁸ So they lay waite for blood and lie priuily for their liues. ¹⁹ Such are the wayes of euery one that is greedy of gaine: he would take away the life of the owners thereof. ²⁰ Wisdome cryeth without: she vttereth her voyce in the streetes. ²¹ She calleth in the hye streete, among the prease in the entrings of the gates, and vttereth her wordes in the citie, saying, ²² O ye foolish, howe long will ye loue foolishnes? and the scornefull take their pleasure in scorning, and the fooles hate knowledge? ²³ (Turne you at my correction: loe, I will powre out my mind vnto you, and make you vnderstand my wordes) ²⁴ Because I haue called, and ye refused: I haue stretched out mine hand, and none woulde regarde. ²⁵ But ye haue despised all my counsell, and would none of my correction. ²⁶ I will also laugh at your destruction, and mocke, when your feare commeth. ²⁷ Whe your feare cometh like sudden desolation, and your destruction shall come like a whirle wind: whe affliction and anguish shall come vpon you, ²⁸ Then shall they call vpon me, but I will not answere: they shall seeke me early, but they shall not finde me, ²⁹ Because they hated knowledge, and did not chuse the feare of the Lord. ³⁰ They would none of my counsell, but despised all my correction. ³¹ Therefore shall they eate of ye fruite of their owne way, and be filled with their owne deuises. ³² For ease slaieth the foolish, and the prosperitie of fooles destroyeth them. ³³ But he that obeyeth me, shall dwell safely, and be quiet from feare of euill.

¹⁵ Studie to shewe thy selfe approued vnto God, a workeman that needeth not to be ashamed, diuiding the worde of trueth aright.

²³ Also when ye shall come into the land, and haue planted euery tree for meate, ye shall count the fruite thereof as vncircumcised: three yeere shall it be vncircumcised vnto you, it shall not be eaten: ²⁴ But in the fourth yere all the fruite thereof shalbe holy to the praise of the Lord. ²⁵ And in the fifth yeere shall ye eate of the fruite of it that it may yeelde to you the encrease thereof: I am the Lord your God.

⁸ Let not this booke of the Law depart out of thy mouth, but meditate therin day and night, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all that is written therein: for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou haue good successe.

¹⁷ And whosoeuer hath this worlds good, and seeth his brother haue neede, and shutteth vp his compassion from him, howe dwelleth the loue of God in him?

¹⁵ Loue not this world, neither the things that are in this world. If any man loue this world, the loue of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in this world (as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life) is not of the Father, but is of this world. ¹⁷ And this world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that fulfilleth the will of God, abideth euer.

⁴ Saue when there shall be no poore with thee: for the Lord shall blesse thee in the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee, for an inheritance to possesse it:

³⁸ Giue, and it shalbe giuen vnto you: a good measure, pressed downe, shaken together and running ouer shall men giue into your bosome: for with what measure ye mete, with the same shall men mete to you againe.

³⁵ I haue shewed you all things, howe that so labouring, ye ought to support the weake, and to remember the wordes of the Lord Iesus, howe that hee saide, It is a blessed thing to giue, rather then to receiue.

⁶ This yet remember, that he which soweth sparingly, shall reape also sparingly, and hee that soweth liberally, shall reape also liberally.

²⁰ But lay vp treasures for your selues in heauen, where neither the mothe nor canker corrupteth, and where theeues neither digge through, nor steale.

³³ Sell that ye haue, and giue almes: make you bagges, which waxe not old, a treasure that can neuer faile in heauen, where no theefe commeth, neither mothe corrupteth. ³⁴ For where your treasure is, there will your hearts be also.

⁷ The rich ruleth the poore, and the borower is seruant to the man that lendeth.

¹ Cast thy bread vpon the waters: for after many daies thou shalt finde it. ² Giue a portion to seuen, and also to eight: for thou knowest not what euill shalbe vpon ye earth. ³ If the clouds be full, they wil powre forth raine vpon the earth: and if the tree doe fall toward the South, or toward the North, in the place that the tree falleth, there it shalbe. ⁴ He that obserueth ye winde, shall not sow, and he that regardeth the cloudes, shall not reape. ⁵ As thou knowest not which is ye way of the spirit, nor how the bones doe growe in the wombe of her that is with child: so thou knowest not the worke of God that worketh all. ⁶ In the morning sowe thy seede, and in the euening let not thine hand rest: for thou knowest not whither shall prosper, this or that, or whether both shalbe a like good.
