⁷ For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheepe of his hande: to day, if ye will heare his voyce, ⁸ Harden not your heart, as in Meribah, and as in the day of Massah in the wildernesse. ⁹ Where your fathers tempted me, proued me, though they had seene my worke. ¹⁰ Fourtie yeeres haue I contended with this generation, and said, They are a people that erre in heart, for they haue not knowen my wayes. ¹¹ Wherefore I sware in my wrath, saying, Surely they shall not enter into my rest.

³¹ He beleeueth not that he erreth in vanitie: therefore vanitie shalbe his change. ³² His branch shall not be greene, but shall be cut off before his day.

¹¹ For I knowe the thoughtes, that I haue thought towards you, saith the Lord, euen the thoughtes of peace, and not of trouble, to giue you an ende, and your hope.

¹⁵ Studie to shewe thy selfe approued vnto God, a workeman that needeth not to be ashamed, diuiding the worde of trueth aright.

⁵ For there is one God, and one Mediatour betweene God and man, which is the man Christ Iesus,

²⁴ When the vncleane spirite is gone out of a man, he walketh through drie places, seeking rest: and when he findeth none he saieth, I wil returne vnto mine house whence I came out.

¹⁹ Moreouer the workes of the flesh are manifest, which are adulterie, fornication, vncleannes, wantonnes, ²⁰ Idolatrie, witchcraft, hatred, debate, emulations, wrath, contentions, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Enuie, murthers, drunkennesse, gluttonie, and such like, whereof I tell you before, as I also haue tolde you before, that they which doe such things, shall not inherite the kingdome of God.

³⁸ For I am perswaded that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ³⁹ Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shalbe able to separate vs from the loue of God, which is in Christ Iesus our Lord.

¹² There is a way that seemeth right to a man: but the issues thereof are the wayes of death.

⁸ But God setteth out his loue towards vs, seeing that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for vs.

¹ I charge thee therefore before God, and before the Lord Iesus Christ, which shall iudge the quicke and dead at that his appearing, and in his kingdome, ² Preach the worde: be instant, in season and out of season: improue, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. ³ For the time will come, when they will not suffer wholesome doctrine: but hauing their eares itching, shall after their owne lustes get them an heape of teachers, ⁴ And shall turne their eares from the trueth, and shalbe giuen vnto fables. ⁵ But watch thou in all thinges: suffer aduersitie: doe the worke of an Euangelist: cause thy ministerie to be throughly liked of.

²⁸ Come vnto me, all ye that are wearie and laden, and I will ease you. ²⁹ Take my yoke on you, and learne of me that I am meeke and lowly in heart: and ye shall finde rest vnto your soules.

¹ A Psalme of David. The Lord is my shepheard, I shall not want. ² He maketh me to rest in greene pasture, and leadeth me by the still waters. ³ He restoreth my soule, and leadeth me in the paths of righteousnesse for his Names sake. ⁴ Yea, though I should walke through the valley of the shadowe of death, I will feare no euill: for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staffe, they comfort me. ⁵ Thou doest prepare a table before me in the sight of mine aduersaries: thou doest anoynt mine head with oyle, and my cuppe runneth ouer. ⁶ Doubtlesse kindnesse and mercie shall follow me all the dayes of my life, and I shall remaine a long season in the house of the Lord.
