⁹ because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:

² Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; ³ Knowing that the proof of your faith worketh patience. ⁴ And let patience have [its] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

¹ For the Chief Musician: [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah; set to Alamoth. A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ² Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, and though the mountains be moved in the heart of the seas; ³ Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah

¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come? ² My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

¹ The righteous perisheth and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come]. ² He entereth into peace; they rest in their beds, each one that walketh in his uprightness.

³¹ For the Lord will not cast off for ever. ³² For though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. ³³ For he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

¹³ I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me.

⁸ But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part [shall be] in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

¹ The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; ³ to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

¹⁷ For though the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: ¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. ¹⁹ Jehovah, the Lord, is my strength, and he maketh my feet like hinds’ [feet], and will make me to walk upon mine high places. For the Chief Musician, on my stringed instruments.

¹⁹ Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord.

¹⁸ The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

³³ These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
