13 And now abide faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

2 Peter 1:5

5 ¶ Ye also, giving all diligence to the same, show forth virtue in your faith; and in virtue, knowledge;

Acts 2:38

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized each one of you into the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

12 ¶ Clothed, therefore, (as the elect of God, holy and beloved) with bowels of mercies, with kindness, with humility, with meekness, with tolerance,

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

1 ¶ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and though I give my body to be burned and have not charity, it profits me nothing. 4 ¶ Charity suffers long and is benign; charity envies not; charity does nothing without due reason, is not puffed up, 5 is not injurious, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, 6 rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 ¶ Charity is never lost, but prophecies shall come to an end, tongues shall cease, and knowledge shall come to an end. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see as through a mirror, in darkness, but then we shall see face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know even as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

2 Peter 1:1-11

1 ¶ Simon Peter, slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those that have obtained like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in the knowledge of God and of our Lord Jesus, 3 as all things that pertain to life and to godliness are given us of his divine power, through the knowledge of him that has called us by his glory and virtue, 4 whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these ye might be made participants of the divine nature, having fled the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 ¶ Ye also, giving all diligence to the same, show forth virtue in your faith; and in virtue, knowledge; 6 and in knowledge, temperance; and in temperance, patience; and in patience, fear of God; 7 and in fear of God, brotherly love; and in brotherly love, charity. 8 For if these things are in you and abound, they shall not let you be idle nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacks these things is blind and walks feeling the way with his hand, having forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, give all the more diligence to make your calling and election sure; for doing these things, ye shall never fall. 11 Because in this manner the entrance shall be abundantly administered unto you in the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:8

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, exercise yourselves in these things.
