¹⁰ But when thou art called, go and sit down in the lowest place that when he that invited thee comes, he may say unto thee, Friend, come up higher; then shalt thou have glory in the presence of those that sit at the table with thee.

³⁴ ¶ Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons; ³⁵ but in every nation he that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

⁷ to those who persevered in well doing, glory and honour and incorruption, to those who seek eternal life; ⁸ but unto those that are contentious and do not obey the truth, but are persuaded by unrighteousness, indignation and wrath. ⁹ Tribulation and anguish shall be upon every human soul that does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek; ¹⁰ but glory, honour, and peace to everyone that works good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. ¹¹ For there is no respect of persons with God. ¹² For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law ¹³ (for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified; ¹⁴ for when the Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature that which is of the law, these, not having the law, are a law unto themselves; ¹⁵ which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, accusing and also excusing their reasonings one with another) ¹⁶ in the day when God shall judge that which men have covered up, according to my gospel by Jesus, the Christ.

¹² ¶ For we dare not mix ourselves in with or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves, but they do not understand that they are measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves. ¹³ But we will not glory of things beyond our measure, but according to the measure of the rule, of the measure which God has distributed to us, to reach even unto you. ¹⁴ For we do not overextend ourselves by reaching unto you; for we are also come unto you with the gospel of the Christ, ¹⁵ Not glorying of things beyond our measure in the labours of others; but having hope of the increase of your faith, that we shall be abundantly enlarged among you according to our rule, ¹⁶ to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, without entering into the measure {Gr. rule} of another to glory in that which has already been made ready.

⁹ Let love be without dissimulation, abhorring that which is evil, causing you to come unto that which is good; ¹⁰ loving one another with brotherly love, with honour preferring one another; ¹¹ not slothful in earnest care, but fervent in the Spirit, serving the Lord,

¹² And we beseech you, brethren, to recognize those who labour among you and preside over you in the Lord and admonish you ¹³ and that you express greater charity unto them for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

¹ ¶ Let every soul submit itself to the higher powers. For there is no power but of God, and the powers that be are ordained of God. ² Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God, and those that resist shall receive condemnation to themselves. ³ For the magistrates are not a terror unto those who do good, but to the doer of evil. Is thy desire therefore to not fear the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same; ⁴ for he is a minister of God for thy good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain, for he is a minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil. ⁵ Therefore it is necessary that ye be subject, not only for punishment, but also for conscience sake. ⁶ For this cause ye also pay them tribute, for they are God’s ministers, attending continually to this very thing. ⁷ ¶ Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

²⁵ But he that does wrong shall receive the wrong which he has done, now that there is no respect of persons.

³² Thou shalt rise up before grey hair and honour the face of the elder and fear thy God. I am the LORD.

² Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God, and those that resist shall receive condemnation to themselves.

⁷ in all things showing thyself as an example of good works, in doctrine showing integrity, seriousness, purity,

¹² ¶ Honour thy father and thy mother that thy days may be lengthened upon the land which the LORD thy God gives thee.

³ Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in humility let each esteem others better than themselves,

¹⁷ Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

¹⁰ loving one another with brotherly love, with honour preferring one another;

¹² ¶ Therefore, all things whatsoever ye desire that men should do unto you, so also shall ye do unto them, for this is the law and the prophets.
