²⁰ Therefore, if thine enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

¹² For the word of God is alive and efficient and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

¹⁸ Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the sons of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. I am the LORD.

¹⁷ This I command you, that ye love one another.

¹² Therefore, lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, ¹³ and make straight steps unto your feet, so that which is lame will not turn out of the way, but let it rather be healed. ¹⁴ Follow peace with everyone and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord: ¹⁵ looking diligently that no one deviate from the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up impede you, and thereby many be defiled,

¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the lords of this age, rulers of this darkness, against spiritual wickedness in the heavens.

¹⁷ Not repaying anyone evil for evil; procuring that which is good not only in the sight of God, but even in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If it can be done, as much as is possible on your part, live in peace with all men. ¹⁹ Not defending yourselves, dearly beloved; but rather give place unto the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. ²⁰ Therefore, if thine enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. ²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹⁴ Bless those who persecute you: bless, and do not curse. ¹⁵ Rejoice with those that rejoice and weep with those that weep. ¹⁶ Be unanimous among yourselves, not high minded, but accommodating the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

⁴⁴ But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those that hate you, and pray for those who speak evil about you, and persecute you; ⁴⁵ that ye may be sons of your Father who is in the heavens, for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
