²⁷ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

¹⁰ ¶ Then Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither up until now, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy slave; but I am slow of speech and of a slow tongue. ¹¹ And the LORD said unto him, Who has made man’s mouth? ² And Jesus called a little child unto him and set him in the midst of them ³ and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of the heavens. ⁴ Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens. ⁵ And whosoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives me.

¹⁴ ¶ And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, ¹⁵ Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is lunatic and suffers miserably; for many times he has fallen into the fire and often into the water. ¹⁶ And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. ¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, O unfaithful and crooked generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him here to me. ¹⁸ And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon departed out of him and the child was cured from that very hour.

¹⁷ And one of the multitude answering, said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, who has a dumb spirit; ¹⁸ and wherever he takes him, he tears him, and he foams and gnashes with his teeth and pines away; and I spoke to thy disciples that they should cast him out, and they could not. ¹⁹ Answering, he said unto him, O unfaithful generation, how long shall I be with you? How long must I suffer you? Bring him unto me. ²⁰ And they brought him unto him; and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tore him; and he fell on the ground and wallowed foaming. ²¹ And Jesus asked his father, How long ago is it since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. ²² And ofttimes it has cast him into the fire and into the waters to kill him, but if thou canst do any thing, help us, having mercy on us. ²³ And Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe this, all things are possible to him that believes. ²⁴ And straightway the father of the child crying out with tears, said, Lord, I believe; help thou my unbelief. ²⁵ When Jesus saw that the multitude concurred, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, come out of him and enter no more into him. ²⁶ Then the spirit, crying out and rending him sore, came out; and he remained as one dead, insomuch that many said that he was dead. ²⁷ But Jesus, taking him by the hand, straightened him up; and he arose. ²⁸ And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? ²⁹ And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

⁴⁷ And if anyone hears my words and believes not, I judge him not, for I came not to judge the world but to save the world.

⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather glory in my weaknesses that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

¹⁸ And I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing; for I have the desire, but I am not able to perform that which is good.

¹⁰ Therefore I am content in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹³ And all thy sons shall be taught of the LORD; and the peace of thy sons shall be multiplied.

² And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think concerning you, said the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you the end that you wait for.

¹⁸ But now God has set the members each one of them in the body, as it has pleased him.

²⁶ For look upon your vocation, brothers, that ye are not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, ²⁷ but rather God has chosen that which is the foolishness of the world to confound the wise, and God has chosen that which is the weakness of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; ²⁸ and that which is vile of the world and that which is despised God has chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought the things that are, ²⁹ that no flesh should glory in his presence.

¹ ¶ And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man who was blind from his birth. ² And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? ³ Jesus answered, Neither has this man sinned nor his parents, but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
