Genesis 34:1-31

1
DINAH FOULED
And Dinah, the daughter Leah birthed to Yaaqov, goes out to see the daughters of the land: 2 and when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivviy, hierarch of the land, sees her, he takes her and lies down with her and humbles her: 3 and his soul adheres to Dinah the daughter of Yaaqov; and he loves the lass and words to the heart of the lass. 4 And Shechem says to his father Hamor, saying, Take me this child to woman. 5 And Yaaqov hears that he fouled Dinah his daughter: and his sons are with his chattel in the field: and Yaaqov hushes until they come: 6 and Hamor the father of Shechem goes out to Yaaqov to word with him: 7 and when the sons of Yaaqov hear they come from the field: and the men contort and inflame mightily, because he worked folly in Yisra El in lying with the daughter of Yaaqov; which ought not to be worked. 8 And Hamor words with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem is attached to your daughter: I beseech you, give her him to woman: 9 and intermarry with us and give your daughters to us and take our daughters to you: 10 and settle with us: and the land is at your face: settle and merchandise therein and possess therein. 11 And Shechem says to her father and to her brothers, Let me find charism in your eyes and as you say to me, I give: 12 abound on me a mighty dowry and gift and I give according as you say to me: but give me the lass to woman. 13 And the sons of Yaaqov answer Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully because he had fouled Dinah their sister, and word, 14 and say to them, We cannot work this word, to give our sister to a man - foreskined; for that is a reproach to us: 15 but in this we consent to you: If you become as we, that every male of you circumcise; 16 then we give you our daughters and we take your daughters to us and we settle with you and we become one people: 17 and if you hearken not to us - to circumcise; then we take our daughter and we go. 18 And their words well-please the eyes of Hamor and Shechem the son of Hamor: 19 and the young lad delays not to work the word, because he delights in the daughter of Yaaqov: and he being more honorable than all the house of his father. 20 And Hamor and Shechem his son come to the portal of their city and word with the men of their city, saying, 21 These men are at shalom with us; so let them settle in the land and merchandise therein; for the land behold, is broadhanded at their face; let us take their daughters to us for women and give them our daughters: 22 only herein consent the men to us to settle with us - to become one people, if every male among us circumcise as they circumcise. 23 Their chattel and all they chattel and every animal of theirs - are they not ours? Only let us consent to them so that they settle with us. 24 And all who go from the portal of his city hearken to Hamor and to Shechem his son; and every male - all who go from the portal of his city circumcises. 25 And so be it, on the third day, in their paining, two of the sons of Yaaqov, Shimon and Levi, brothers of Dinah, each man takes his sword and comes on the city confidently and slaughters all the males: 26 and they slaughter Hamor and Shechem his son with the mouth of the sword and take Dinah from the house of Shechem and go. 27 The sons of Yaaqov come on the pierced and plunder the city, because they fouled their sister: 28 they take their flocks and their oxen and their he burros and that in the city and that in the field 29 and all their valuables and all their toddlers and capture their women and even plunder all that is in the house. 30 And Yaaqov says to Shimon and Levi, You have troubled me to make me to stink among them who settle the land - among the Kenaaniy and the Perizziy: and I - few men in number, they gather against me and smite me; and desolate me - I and my house. 31 And they say, Works he our sister as one who whores?

Numbers 31:1-54

1
SONS OF YISRA EL AVENGE THE MIDYANIY
And Yah Veh words to Mosheh, saying, 2 Avenge the avengement of the sons of Yisra El against the Midyaniy: and afterward, gather to your people. 3 And Mosheh words to the people, saying, Equip some of your men to the hostility; and have them go against Midyaniy and give the avengement of Yah on Midyan. 4 Send a thousand per rod - a thousand per rod of all the rods of Yisra El to the hostility. 5 So they set apart, of the thousands of Yisra El, a thousand piercers per rod, twelve thousand equipped for hostility: 6 and Mosheh sends them to the hostility - a thousand per rod - them and Phinechas the son of El Azar the priest to the hostility with the holy instruments; and in his hand, the trumpets to blast. 7 And they host against the Midyaniy as Yah Veh misvahed Mosheh; and they slaughter all the males: 8 and they slaughter the sovereigns of Midyan, beside the rest whom they pierced - Evi and Reqem and Sur and Hur and Reba - five sovereigns of Midyan: and they slaughter Bilam the son of Beor with the sword: 9 and the sons of Yisra El capture all the women of Midyan and their toddlers and take the plunder of all their animals and all their chattel and all their valuables: 10 and they burn all their cities of settlements and all their walls, with fire: 11 and they take all the loot and all the prey, - human and animal: 12 and they bring the captives and the prey and the loot, to Mosheh and El Azar the priest and to the witness of the sons of Yisra El, to the camp at the plains of Moab by Yarden near Yericho. 13 And Mosheh and El Azar the priest and all the hierarchs of the witness, go forth to meet them outside the camp. 14 And Mosheh is enraged with them who oversee the valiant - with the governors over thousands and governors over hundreds who come from the hostility of war. 15 And Mosheh says to them, Preserved you all the females alive? 16 Behold, these become to the sons of Yisra El, through the word of Bilam, to set treason against Yah Veh in the word of Peor and a plague among the witness of Yah Veh. 17 And now slaughter every male among the toddlers and slaughter every woman who has known man by bedding with a male: 18 and all the toddlers among the women, who have not known bedding with a male, preserve alive for yourselves. 19 Whoever slaughters any soul and whoever touches any pierced, encamp outside the camp seven days and purify for your sins and your captives on the third day and on the seventh day: 20 and for your sins, purify your clothes and all instruments of skins and all work of goats and all instruments made of timber. 21 And El Azar the priest says to the men of hostility who go to the war, This is the statute of the torah Yah Veh misvahed Mosheh: 22 only the gold and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin and the lead, 23 every word that abides the fire: pass it through the fire and it purifies: only it purifies for your sins with the water of exclusion: and all that abides not the fire, pass through the water: 24 and launder your clothes on the seventh day and purify and afterward come into the camp. 25
HALVING THE PREY
And Yah Veh says to Mosheh, saying, 26 Bear the top of the prey of the captives, both of human and of animal, you and El Azar the priest and the head fathers of the witness: 27 and halve the prey into two parts; between them who manipulate the war who go out to the hostility and between all the witness: 28 and lift an assessment to Yah Veh of the men of war who go out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the humans and of the oxen and of the he burros and of the flocks; 29 take of their half and give it to El Azar the priest for an exaltment to Yah Veh. 30 And of the half of the sons of Yisra El, take one possession of fifty of the humans, of the oxen, of the he burros and of the flocks, of all animals; and give them to the Leviym who guard the guard of the tabernacle of Yah Veh. 31 And Mosheh and El Azar the priest work as Yah Veh misvahed Mosheh. 32 And the prey, being the remainder of the plunder which the men of hostility plundered: six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand flocks, 33 and seventy-two thousand oxen, 34 and sixty-one thousand he burros, 35 and of women who had not known man by bedding with him and of human souls, - all the souls, thirty-two thousand. 36 And the half, the allotment of them who go out to the hostility, number three hundred thousand and thirty-seven thousand and five hundred flocks. 37 And their assessment to Yah Veh: of the flocks, six hundred and seventy-five; 38 and the oxen, thirty-six thousand; and their assessment to Yah Veh, seventy-two; 39 and the he burros, thirty thousand and five hundred; and their assessment to Yah Veh, sixty-one: 40 and the souls of humanity, sixteen thousand; and their assessment to Yah Veh, thirty-two souls. 41 And Mosheh gives the assessment, the exaltment to Yah Veh, to El Azar the priest, as Yah Veh misvahed Mosheh. 42 And the half to the sons of Yisra El, which Mosheh halves from the men who host, 43 - the half for the witness, three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred of the flocks, 44 and thirty-six thousand oxen, 45 and thirty thousand and five hundred he burros, 46 and sixteen thousand souls of humanity; 47 of the half of the sons of Yisra El, Mosheh takes one possession of fifty, of human and of animal and gives them to the Leviym, who guard the guard of the tabernacle of Yah Veh; as Yah Veh misvahed Mosheh. 48 And they who oversee thousands of the host, the governors of thousands and governors of hundreds come near to Mosheh: 49 and they say to Mosheh, Your servants lifted the heads of the men of war under our hand and oversighted no man of us: 50 we oblated a qorban for Yah Veh, of what every man found: instruments of gold, anklets and bracelets, signets, earrings and beads, to kapar/atone for our souls at the face of Yah Veh. 51 And Mosheh and El Azar the priest take the gold from them, all works of instruments: 52 and all the gold of the exaltment they exalt to Yah Veh, of the governors of thousands and of the governors of hundreds, sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels 53 - the men of hostility had plundered, every man for himself: 54 and Mosheh and El Azar the priest take the gold of the governors of thousands and of hundreds; and bring it into the tent of the congregation, for a memorial for the sons of Yisra El at the face of Yah Veh.

THE TORAH ON THE CAPTURED WOMAN When you go to war against your enemies and Yah Veh your Elohim gives them in your hands and you capture them, 11 and among the captives, see a woman fair in form and are attached to her, and you take her as your woman; 12 bring her midst your house: and she shaves her head and works her nails 13 and she turns aside the clothes of her captivity and settles in your house; and weeps over her father and her mother a moon of days: and after that you go in to her and marry her and she becomes your woman. 14 And so be it, if you delight not in her, send her away as her soul desires; but in selling, you neither sell her for silver, nor tyrranize her, because you humbled her.

AMNON AND TAMAR
And so be it, after this, Abi Shalom the son of David has a beautiful sister, and her name is Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loves her; 2 and Amnon is so depressed he falls sick for his sister Tamar; for she is a virgin; and it is marvellous in the eyes of Amnon to work aught to her. 3 And Amnon has a friend, and his name is Yah Nadab the son of Shimah the brother of David; and Yah Nadab is a mighty wise man: 4 and he says to him, Why are you, the son of the sovereign, so poor morning by morning? Why not tell me? And Amnon says to him, I love Tamar the sister of my brother Abi Shalom. 5 And Yah Nadab says to him, Lie down on your bed and make yourself sick: and when your father comes to see you, say to him, I pray you, have my sister Tamar come and cut me bread to chew and work cuttings in my eyes that I may see and eat from her hand. 6 So Amnon lies down and makes himself sick: and when the sovereign comes to see him Amnon says to the sovereign, I pray you, have Tamar my sister come and bake me a couple of cakes in my eyes, that I may chew from her hand. 7 And David sends home to Tamar, saying, Go now to the house of your brother Amnon and work him cuttings. 8 So Tamar goes to the house of her brother Amnon; and he lies down: and she takes dough and kneads and bakes in his eyes and ripens the cakes: 9 and she takes a pan and pours them at his face; but he refuses to eat. And Amnon says, Send all the men from me! - and every man goes from him. 10 And Amnon says to Tamar, Bring the cuttings into the chamber, that I may chew from your hand. And Tamar takes the cakes she worked and brings them into the chamber to her brother Amnon: 11 and she brings them near to him to eat and he holds her and says to her, Come lie down with me, my sister. 12 And she says to him, No, my brother, humble me not; for such ought not to be worked in Yisra El: work not this folly: 13 And I, where goes my reproach? And as for you, you become as one of the fools in Yisra El: and now, I pray you, word to the sovereign; for he withholds me not from you. 14 Howbeit he wills to not hearken to her voice: but, being tougher than she, he humbles her and lies down with her: 15 and Amnon hates her mightily; so that the hatred wherewith he hates her is greater than the love wherewith he loved her. And Amnon says to her, Rise! Go! 16 And she says to him, No! This evil in sending me away is greater than the other that you worked me. - and he wills to not hearken to her. 17 And he calls his lad who ministers to him and says, Send this away from me now and enclose the door after her. 18 And she has a coverall coat on her: for with such mantles were the virgin daughters of the sovereign enrobed: and his minister brings her out and encloses the door after her. 19 And Tamar takes ashes on her head and rips the coverall coat on her and sets her hand on her head: and in walking, walks on crying. 20 And Abi Shalom her brother says to her, Has Amnon your brother been with you? Hush now, my sister; he is your brother: set not your heart to this word. - and Tamar settles desolate in the house of her brother Abi Shalom. 21 And sovereign David hears of all these words and he is mightily inflamed: 22 and Abi Shalom words to his brother Amnon neither good nor evil: for Abi Shalom hates Amnon, for word that he abased his sister Tamar. 23
ABI SHALOM DEATHIFIES AMNON
And so be it, after two years of days, Abi Shalom has sheepshearers in Baal Hasor beside Ephrayim: and Abi Shalom calls all the sons of the sovereign: 24 and Abi Shalom comes to the sovereign and says, Behold now, your servant has sheepshearers; may the sovereign, I beseech you, and his servants go with your servant. 25 And the sovereign says to Abi Shalom, No, my son, not all of us go now lest we be too heavy to you. - and he breaches on him; but he wills to not go; and he blesses him. 26 And Abi Shalom says, If not, I pray you, have my brother Amnon go with us. And the sovereign says to him, Why have him go with you? 27 And Abi Shalom breaches on him to send Amnon away with all the sons of the sovereign. 28 And Abi Shalom misvahs his lads, saying, Now see, when the heart of Amnon is good with wine, and I say to you, Smite Amnon! Deathify him! Awe not! I - misvah I you not? Strengthen! Sons of valour! 29 And the lads of Abi Shalom work to Amnon as Abi Shalom misvahs: and all the sons of the sovereign rise and every man rides on his mule and flees. 30 And so be it, as they are in the way, reports come to David, saying, Abi Shalom smites all the sons of the sovereign and not one of them remains. 31 And the sovereign rises and rips his clothes and lies down on the earth; and all his servants station by with ripped clothes. 32 And Yah Nadab the son of Shimah the brother of David answers and says, My adoni, say not that they deathified all the lads of the sons of the sovereign; for only, Amnon died: for this became set by the mouth of Abi Shalom the day he abased his sister Tamar. 33 And now my adoni the sovereign, set not the word to your heart, saying, All the sons of the sovereign died! - for only, Amnon died. 34 And Abi Shalom flees: and the lad who watches lifts his eyes and sees; and behold, much people come by the way of the mountain side behind him. 35 And Yah Nadab says to the sovereign, Behold, the sons of the sovereign come: according to the word of your servant, so be it. 36 And so be it, as soon as he finishes wording, behold, the sons of the sovereign come and lift their voice and weep: and the sovereign also and all his servants weep a mighty great weeping: 37 and Abi Shalom flees and goes to Talmay the son of Ammi Hud sovereign of Geshur; and mourns for his son every day. 38 And Abi Shalom flees and goes to Geshur and is there three years. 39 And sovereign David concludes to go to Abi Shalom: for he sighs concerning Amnon, seeing he died.

Deuteronomy 22:28-29

28 When a man finds a lass - a virgin not betrothed and captures her and lies with her and they find them; 29 then the man who lies with her gives fifty silver to the father of the lass and she becomes his woman: and because he humbled her he cannot send her away all his days.
