² Cursing, and lying, and killing, and theft, and adultery, have overflowed, and blood hath touched blood.

¹⁶ Know you not that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

⁷ Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that shall take the name of the Lord his God in vain.

¹² But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath. But let your speech be: Yea, Yea: No, No: that you fall not under judgment.

⁴ Or obscenity or foolish talking or scurrility, which is to no purpose: but rather giving of thanks. ⁵ For know you this and understand: That no fornicator or unclean or covetous person (which is a serving of idols) hath inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

²⁹ Let no evil speech proceed from your mouth: but that which is good, to the edification of faith: that it may administer grace to the hearers.
