¹⁶ All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice:

³⁹ For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, whomsoever the Lord our God shall call.

²¹ Most fully knowing that whatsoever he has promised, he is able also to perform.

¹⁷ If then any be in Christ a new creature, the old things are passed away. Behold all things are made new.

¹³ Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.

⁷ Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil: and he will fly from you. ⁸ Draw nigh to God: and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

⁹ The Lord delayeth not his promise, as some imagine, but dealeth patiently for your sake, not willing that any should perish, but that all should return to penance,
