¹³ But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that, when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. ¹⁴ If you be reproached for the name of Christ, you shall be blessed: for that which is of the honour, glory and power of God, and that which is his Spirit resteth upon you. ¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or a railer or coveter of other men's things.

³ It is an honour for a man to separate himself from quarrels: but all fools are meddling with reproaches.

²⁰ When the wood faileth, the fire shall go out: and when the talebearer is taken away, contentions shall cease.

¹ Judge not, that you may not be judged. ² For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. ³ And why seest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye; and seest not the beam that is in thy own eye? ⁴ Or how sayest thou to thy brother: Let me cast the mote out of thy eye; and behold a beam is in thy own eye? ⁵ Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thy own eye, and then shalt thou see to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

¹¹ And that you use your endeavour to be quiet: and that you do your own business and work with your own hands, as we commanded you:

¹⁷ As he that taketh a dog by the ears, so is he that passeth by in anger, and meddleth with another man's quarrel.
