¹³ Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

⁵ Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. ⁶ Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill. ⁷ Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. ⁸ Blessed are the clean of heart: they shall see God. ⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

⁶ And having different gifts, according to the grace that is given us, either prophecy, to be used according to the rule of faith; ⁷ Or ministry, in ministering; or he that teacheth, in doctrine; ⁸ He that exhorteth, in exhorting; he that giveth, with simplicity; he that ruleth, with carefulness; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

¹⁷ To no man rendering evil for evil. Providing good things, not only in the sight of God but also in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as is in you, have peace with all men. ¹⁹ Revenge not yourselves, my dearly beloved; but give place unto wrath, for it is written: Revenge is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. ²⁰ But if the enemy be hungry, give him to eat; if he thirst, give him to drink. For, doing this, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head. ²¹ Be not overcome by evil: but overcome evil by good.

⁴³ You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy. ⁴⁴ But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: ⁴⁵ That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.

² And be not conformed to this world: but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and the acceptable and the perfect will of God.

⁸ For the rest, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever modest, whatsoever just, whatsoever holy, whatsoever lovely, whatsoever of good fame, if there be any virtue, if any praise of discipline: think on these things. ⁹ The things which you have both learned and received and heard and seen in me, these do ye: and the God of peace shall be with you.

¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world, to judge the world: but that the world may be saved by him.

¹ Now, we that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ² Let every one of you Please his neighbour unto good, to edification.
