¹⁷ Blessed is the man whom God correcteth: refuse not, therefore, the chastising of the Lord. ¹⁸ For he woundeth, and cureth: he striketh, and his hands shall heal. ¹⁹ In six troubles he shall deliver thee, and in the seventh, evil shall not touch thee. ²⁰ In famine he shall deliver thee from death; and in battle, from the hand of the sword. ²¹ Thou shalt be hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh. ²² In destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth. ²³ But thou shalt have a covenant with the stones of the lands, and the beasts of the earth shall be at peace with thee. ²⁴ And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty, thou shalt not sin. ²⁵ Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be multiplied, and thy offspring like the grass of the earth. ²⁶ Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in in its season. ²⁷ Behold, this is even so, as we have searched out: which thou having heard, consider it thoroughly in thy mind.

³ Trust in the Lord, and do good, and dwell in the land, and thou shalt be fed with its riches.

¹³ For every man that eateth and drinketh, and seeth good of his labour, this is the gift of God.

¹⁰ For which cause I please myself in my infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ. For when I am weak, then am I powerful.

¹⁴ But if also you suffer any thing for justice' sake, blessed are ye. And be not afraid of their fear: and be not troubled.

¹² Dearly beloved, think not strange the burning heat which is to try you: as if some new thing happened to you.

³ Thou shall draw waters with joy out of the saviour's fountains:

⁷ And the peace of God, which surpasseth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

¹³ Blessed is the man that findeth wisdom, and is rich in prudence: ¹⁴ The purchasing thereof is better than the merchandise of silver, and her fruit than the chief and purest gold: ¹⁵ She is more precious than all riches: and all the things that are desired, are not to be compared to her. ¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory. ¹⁷ Her ways are beautiful ways, and all her paths are peaceable. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her: and he that shall retain her is blessed.

¹³ Laughter shall be mingled with sorrow, and mourning taketh hold of the ends of joy.

² Behold, God is my saviour, I will deal confidently, and will not fear: because the Lord is my strength, and my praise, and he is become my salvation.

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always: again, I say, rejoice.

¹² And I have known that there was no better thing than to rejoice, and to do well in this life.

⁴ Delight in the Lord, and he will give thee the requests of thy heart.
