²⁹ But if thou turnest away thy face, they shall be troubled: thou shalt take away their breath, and they shall fail, and shall return to their dust. ³⁰ Thou shalt send forth thy spirit, and they shall be created: and thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

²² Cease ye therefore from the man, whose breath is in his nostrils, for he is reputed high.

⁷ The grass is withered, and the flower is fallen, because the spirit of the Lord hath blown upon it. Indeed the people is grass:

¹⁹ Now when it was late the same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst and said to them: Peace be to you. ²⁰ And when he had said this, he shewed them his hands and his side. ²⁵ Neither is he served with men's hands, as though he needed any thing: seeing it is he who giveth to all life and breath and all things:

¹⁴ If he turn his heart to him, he shall draw his spirit and breath unto himself. ¹⁵ All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return into ashes.

⁶ Let every spirit praise the Lord. Alleluia.

⁵ Thus saith the Lord God that created the heavens, and stretched them out: that established the earth, and the things that spring out of it: that giveth breath to the people upon it, and spirit to them that tread thereon.

⁹ And he said to me: Prophesy to the spirit, prophesy, O son of man, and say to the spirit: Thus saith the Lord God: Come, spirit, from the four winds, and blow upon these slain, and let them live again.

²² When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost.

¹⁶ All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice:

³ As long as breath remaineth in me, and the spirit of God in my nostrils,

⁷ And the Lord God formed man of the slime of the earth: and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

⁴ The spirit of God made me, and the breath of the Almighty gave me life.
