⁹ Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: Neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers: ¹⁰ Nor the effeminate nor liers with mankind nor thieves nor covetous nor drunkards nor railers nor extortioners shall possess the kingdom of God.

¹⁵ Love not the world, nor the things which are in the world. If any man love the world, the charity of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world is the concupiscence of the flesh and the concupiscence of the eyes and the pride of life, which is not of the Father but is of the world. ¹⁷ And the world passeth away and the concupiscence thereof: but he that doth the will of God abideth for ever.

²⁴ Judge not according to the appearance: but judge just judgment.

⁴ Marriage honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. For fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

¹ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. ² And if I should have prophecy and should know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. ³ And if I should distribute all my goods to feed the poor, and if I should deliver my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. ⁴ Charity is patient, is kind: charity envieth not, dealeth not perversely, is not puffed up, ⁵ Is not ambitious, seeketh not her own, is not provoked to anger, thinketh no evil: ⁶ Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth with the truth: ⁷ Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. ⁸ Charity never falleth away: whether prophecies shall be made void or tongues shall cease or knowledge shall be destroyed. ⁹ For we know in part: and we prophesy in part. ¹⁰ But when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child. But, when I became a man, I put away the things of a child. ¹² We see now through a glass in a dark manner: but then face to face. Now I know in part: but then I shall know even as I am known. ¹³ And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity.

¹⁸ Fly fornication. Every sin that a man doth is without the body: but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

³ For this is the will of God, your sanctification: That you should abstain from fornication: ⁴ That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour, ⁵ Not in the passion of lust, like the Gentiles that know not God:

²⁴ That they may keep thee from the evil woman, and from the flattering tongue of the stranger. ²⁵ Let not thy heart covet her beauty, be not caught with her winks: ²⁶ For the price of a harlot is scarce one loaf: but the woman catcheth the precious soul of a man. ²⁷ Can a man hide fire in his bosom, and his garments not burn? ²⁸ Or can he walk upon hot coals, and his feet not be burnt?

³ Whose adorning, let it not be the outward plaiting of the hair, or the wearing of gold, or the putting on of apparel: ⁴ But the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptibility of a quiet and a meek spirit which is rich in the sight of God. ⁵ For after this manner heretofore, the holy women also who trusted in God adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands: ⁶ As Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters you are, doing well and not fearing any disturbance. ⁷ Ye husbands, likewise dwelling with them according to knowledge, giving honour to the female as to the weaker vessel and as to the co-heirs of the grace of life: that your prayers be not hindered.
