¹ When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider well who is before thee; ² and put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. ³ Be not desirous of his dainties; for they are deceitful food.

¹⁶ Do ye not know that ye are [the] temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwells in you? ¹⁷ If any one corrupt the temple of God, *him* shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and such are *ye*.

³ And not only [that], but we also boast in tribulations, knowing that tribulation works endurance; ⁴ and endurance, experience; and experience, hope; ⁵ and hope does not make ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by [the] Holy Spirit which has been given to us: ⁶ for we being still without strength, in [the] due time Christ has died for [the] ungodly.

⁹ Do ye not know that unrighteous [persons] shall not inherit [the] kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who make women of themselves, nor who abuse themselves with men, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor abusive persons, nor [the] rapacious, shall inherit [the] kingdom of God. ¹¹ And these things were some of you; but ye have been washed, but ye have been sanctified, but ye have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

²⁵ But every one that contends [for a prize] is temperate in all things: *they* then indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown, but *we* an incorruptible.

¹⁶ But I say, Walk in [the] Spirit, and ye shall no way fulfil flesh`s lust.

¹³ I have strength for all things in him that gives me power.

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, if they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. ² Hereby ye know the Spirit of God: every spirit which confesses Jesus Christ come in flesh is of God; ³ and every spirit which does not confess Jesus Christ come in flesh is not of God: and this is that [power] of the antichrist, [of] which ye have heard that it comes, and now it is already in the world. ⁴ *Ye* are of God, children, and have overcome them, because greater is he that [is] in you than he that [is] in the world. ⁵ *They* are of the world; for this reason they speak [as] of the world, and the world hears them. ⁶ *We* are of God; he that knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. ⁷ Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God. ⁸ He that loves not has not known God; for God is love. ⁹ Herein as to us has been manifested the love of God, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son a propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has seen God at any time: if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ Hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, that he has given to us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ And *we* have seen, and testify, that the Father has sent the Son [as] Saviour of the world. ¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And *we* have known and have believed the love which God has to us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God in him. ¹⁷ Herein has love been perfected with us that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, that even as *he* is, *we* also are in this world. ¹⁸ There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has torment, and he that fears has not been made perfect in love. ¹⁹ *We* love because *he* has first loved us. ²⁰ If any one say, I love God, and hate his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? ²¹ And this commandment have we from him, That he that loves God love also his brother.

¹ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your intelligent service. ² And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of [your] mind, that ye may prove what [is] the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take forethought for the flesh to [fulfil its] lusts.

⁸ Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.

¹⁶ Hast thou found honey? Eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be surfeited therewith, and vomit it.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, fidelity, ²³ meekness, self-control: against such things there is no law. ²⁴ But they that [are] of the Christ have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts. ²⁵ If we live by the Spirit, let us walk also by the Spirit.

⁶ in knowledge temperance, in temperance endurance, in endurance godliness,

¹² teaching us that, having denied impiety and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, and justly, and piously in the present course of things,

²⁷ But I buffet my body, and lead it captive, lest [after] having preached to others I should be myself rejected.

²³ meekness, self-control: against such things there is no law.
