¹⁴ The spirit of a man sustaineth his infirmity; but a broken spirit who can bear?

¹⁶ Wherefore we faint not; but if indeed our outward man is consumed, yet the inward is renewed day by day. ¹⁷ For our momentary [and] light affliction works for us in surpassing measure an eternal weight of glory; ¹⁸ while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen; for the things that are seen [are] for a time, but those that are not seen eternal.

²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man:

¹² For the word of God [is] living and operative, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and penetrating to [the] division of soul and spirit, both of joints and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of [the] heart.

⁶³ It is the Spirit which quickens, the flesh profits nothing: the words which I have spoken unto you are spirit and are life.

¹⁵ For that which I do, I do not own: for not what I will, this I do; but what I hate, this I practise. ¹⁶ But if what I do not will, this I practise, I consent to the law that [it is] right. ¹⁷ Now then [it is] no longer *I* [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me. ¹⁸ For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, good does not dwell: for to will is there with me, but to do right [I find] not. ¹⁹ For I do not practise the good that I will; but the evil I do not will, that I do. ²⁰ But if what *I* do not will, this I practise, [it is] no longer *I* [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me. ²¹ I find then the law upon *me* who will to practise what is right, that with *me* evil is there. ²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man: ²³ but I see another law in my members, warring in opposition to the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which exists in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I [am]! who shall deliver me out of this body of death?

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, if they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

¹³ Hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, that he has given to us of his Spirit.

¹⁶ But I say, Walk in [the] Spirit, and ye shall no way fulfil flesh`s lust.

²⁴ God [is] a spirit; and they who worship him must worship [him] in spirit and truth.

¹³ But when *he* is come, the Spirit of truth, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatsoever he shall hear he shall speak; and he will announce to you what is coming.
