⁹ *Thou* rulest the pride of the sea: when its waves arise, *thou* stillest them.

¹⁰ He hath traced a fixed circle over the waters, unto the confines of light and darkness.

¹ Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah from the heavens; praise him in the heights. ² Praise ye him, all his angels; praise ye him, all his hosts. ³ Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all ye stars of light. ⁴ Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that are above the heavens. ⁵ Let them praise the name of Jehovah, for he it is that commanded, and they were created: ⁶ And he established them for ever and ever; he made [for them] a statute which shall not pass. ⁷ Praise Jehovah from the earth, ye sea-monsters, and all deeps; ⁸ Fire and hail, snow and vapour, stormy wind fulfilling his word; ⁹ Mountains and all hills, fruit-trees and all cedars; ¹⁰ Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and winged fowl; ¹¹ Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all judges of the earth; ¹² Both young men and maidens, old men with youths, -- ¹³ Let them praise the name of Jehovah: for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above the earth and the heavens. ¹⁴ And he hath lifted up the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints, [even] of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Hallelujah!

²² And immediately he compelled the disciples to go on board ship, and to go on before him to the other side, until he should have dismissed the crowds. ²³ And having dismissed the crowds, he went up into the mountain apart to pray. And when even was come, he was alone there, ²⁴ but the ship was already in the middle of the sea tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. ²⁵ But in the fourth watch of the night he went off to them, walking on the sea. ²⁶ And the disciples, seeing him walking on the sea, were troubled, saying, It is an apparition. And they cried out through fear.

²⁶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over the whole earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth on the earth.

⁷ But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowl of the heavens, and they shall tell thee; ⁸ Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. ⁹ Who knoweth not in all these, that the hand of Jehovah hath wrought this? ¹⁰ In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the spirit of all flesh of man.

⁸ The fowl of the heavens, and the fishes of the sea, [whatever] passeth through the paths of the seas.

³⁵ Thus saith Jehovah, who giveth the sun for light by day, the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for light by night, who stirreth up the sea so that the waves thereof roar, -- Jehovah of hosts is his name:

⁶ To him that stretched out the earth above the waters, for his loving-kindness [endureth] for ever;
