⁸ He flieth away as a dream, and is not found; and is chased away as a vision of the night.

¹² Now to me a word was secretly brought, and mine ear received a whisper thereof. ¹³ In thoughts from visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men: -- ¹⁴ Fear came on me, and trembling, and made all my bones to shake; ¹⁵ And a spirit passed before my face -- the hair of my flesh stood up -- ¹⁶ It stood still; I could not discern the appearance thereof: a form was before mine eyes; I heard a slight murmur and a voice: ¹⁷ Shall [mortal] man be more just than +God? Shall a man be purer than his Maker? ¹⁸ Lo, he trusteth not his servants, and his angels he chargeth with folly: ¹⁹ How much more them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed as the moth! ²⁰ From morning to evening are they smitten: without any heeding it, they perish for ever. ²¹ Is not their tent-cord torn away in them? they die, and without wisdom.

⁷ For in the multitude of dreams are vanities; so with many words: but fear God.

²⁸ And it shall come to pass afterwards [that] I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

² For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams: they comfort in vain. Therefore they have gone away as a flock, they are in distress, because there is no shepherd.

²⁸ The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell the dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith Jehovah.

¹⁷ And it shall be in the last days, saith God, [that] I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your elders shall dream with dreams;

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, if they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

³ For a dream cometh through the multitude of business, and a fool`s voice through a multitude of words.
