¹⁷ And he loved cursing; so let it come unto him. And he delighted not in blessing; and let it be far from him.

²¹ Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

¹⁰ And having called to [him] the crowd, he said to them, Hear and understand: ¹¹ Not what enters into the mouth defiles the man; but what goes forth out of the mouth, this defiles the man.

⁷ Thou shalt not idly utter the name of Jehovah thy God; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that idly uttereth his name.

¹⁸ but the things which go forth out of the mouth come out of the heart, and those defile man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witnessings, blasphemies; ²⁰ these are the things which defile man; but the eating with unwashen hands does not defile man.

¹⁴ Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.

²⁸ bless those that curse you; pray for those who use you despitefully.

⁶ [Let] your word [be] always with grace, seasoned with salt, [so as] to know how ye ought to answer each one.

⁸ But now, put off, *ye* also, all [these] things, wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, vile language out of your mouth.

²⁶ If any one think himself to be religious, not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his heart, this man`s religion is vain.

⁸ but the tongue can no one among men tame; [it is] an unsettled evil, full of death-bringing poison. ⁹ Therewith bless we the Lord and Father, and therewith curse we men made after [the] likeness of God. ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth goes forth blessing and cursing. It is not right, my brethren, that these things should be thus.

⁴ and filthiness and foolish talking, or jesting, which are not convenient; but rather thanksgiving.

²⁹ Let no corrupt word go out of your mouth, but if [there be] any good one for needful edification, that it may give grace to those that hear [it].
