⁸ In the day-time will Jehovah command his loving-kindness, and in the night his song shall be with me, a prayer unto the ?God of my life. ⁹ I will say unto ?God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? ¹⁰ As with a crushing in my bones mine adversaries reproach me, while they say unto me all the day, Where is thy God? ¹¹ Why art thou cast down, my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, [who is] the health of my countenance, and my God.

⁴ For the arms of our warfare [are] not fleshly, but powerful according to God to [the] overthrow of strongholds; ⁵ overthrowing reasonings and every high thing that lifts itself up against the knowledge of God, and leading captive every thought into the obedience of the Christ;

² My God, I confide in thee; let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. ³ Yea, none that wait on thee shall be ashamed: they shall be ashamed that deal treacherously without cause. ⁴ Make me to know thy ways, O Jehovah; teach me thy paths. ⁵ Make me to walk in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. ⁶ Remember, Jehovah, thy tender mercies and thy loving-kindnesses; for they are from everlasting. ⁷ Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to thy loving-kindness remember thou me, for thy goodness` sake, Jehovah. <sup>8</sup> Good and upright is Jehovah; therefore will he instruct sinners in the way: <sup>9</sup> The meek will he guide in judgment, and the meek will he teach his way. <sup>10</sup> All the paths of Jehovah are loving-kindness and truth for such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. <sup>11</sup> For thy name`s sake, O Jehovah, thou wilt indeed pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

⁷³ YOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, and I will learn thy commandments. ⁷⁴ They that fear thee will see me, and rejoice; because I have hoped in thy word. ⁷⁵ I know, Jehovah, that thy Judgments are righteousness, and that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me. ⁷⁶ Oh let thy loving-kindness be for my comfort, according to thy ?word unto thy servant. ⁷⁷ Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live; for thy law is my delight. ⁷⁸ Let the proud be ashamed; for they have acted perversely towards me with falsehood: as for me, I meditate in thy precepts. ⁷⁹ Let those that fear thee turn unto me, and those that know thy testimonies. ⁸⁰ Let my heart be perfect in thy statutes, that I be not ashamed. ⁸¹ CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation; I hope in thy word.

¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you in your latter end a hope.

¹⁸ For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy [to be compared] with the coming glory to be revealed to us. ¹⁹ For the anxious looking out of the creature expects the revelation of the sons of God: ²⁰ for the creature has been made subject to vanity, not of its will, but by reason of him who has subjected [the same], in hope ²¹ that the creature itself also shall be set free from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. ²² For we know that the whole creation groans together and travails in pain together until now. ²³ And not only [that], but even *we* ourselves, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, we also ourselves groan in ourselves, awaiting adoption, [that is] the redemption of our body. ²⁴ For we have been saved in hope; but hope seen is not hope; for what any one sees, why does he also hope? ²⁵ But if what we see not we hope, we expect in patience.

³³ Who shall bring an accusation against God`s elect? [It is] God who justifies: ³⁴ who is he that condemns? [It is] Christ who has died, but rather has been [also] raised up; who is also at the right hand of God; who also intercedes for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ³⁶ According as it is written, For thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we have been reckoned as sheep for slaughter. ³⁷ But in all these things we more than conquer through him that has loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which [is] in Christ Jesus our Lord.

²⁸ But we *do* know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to purpose.

¹⁴ For sin shall not have dominion over *you*, for ye are not under law but under grace.

¹⁵ For that which I do, I do not own: for not what I will, this I do; but what I hate, this I practise. ¹⁶ But if what I do not will, this I practise, I consent to the law that [it is] right. ¹⁷ Now then [it is] no longer *I* [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me. ¹⁸ For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, good does not dwell: for to will is there with me, but to do right [I find] not. ¹⁹ For I do not practise the good that I will; but the evil I do not will, that I do. ²⁰ But if what *I* do not will, this I practise, [it is] no longer *I* [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me. ²¹ I find then the law upon *me* who will to practise what is right, that with *me* evil is there. ²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man: ²³ but I see another law in my members, warring in opposition to the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which exists in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I [am]! who shall deliver me out of this body of death? ²⁵ I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then *I* *myself* with the mind serve God`s law; but with the flesh sin`s law.

²⁶ And in like manner the Spirit joins also its help to our weakness; for we do not know what we should pray for as is fitting, but the Spirit itself makes intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered. ²⁷ But he who searches the hearts knows what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for saints according to God.
