²² The lamp of the body is the eye. So if your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.

⁹ And he said to them, "You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God, in order to keep your tradition!

²⁰ And he said, "What comes out of a man is what defiles a man. ²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, come evil thoughts, fornications, theft, murder, adultery, ²² coveting, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. ²³ All these evil things come from within, and they defile a man."

¹⁹ Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious: immorality, impurity, lewdness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, ²¹ envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

⁶ it does not rejoice in evil, but rejoices with the truth.

²⁷ "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' ²⁸ But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. ²⁹ If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. ³⁰ And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to go into hell.

¹¹ For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, ¹² training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this present age,

⁵ Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire and greed, which is idolatry.

¹² "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be mastered by anything.

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
