²⁴ When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the half-shekel tax went up to Peter and said, "Does not your teacher pay the temple tax?" ²⁵ He said, "Yes." And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from others?" ²⁶ And when Peter said, "From others," Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are free. ²⁷ Nevertheless, so that we may not offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you open its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for me and you."

⁶ He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish.

⁶ And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their nets were breaking.

¹⁴ Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, ¹⁵ and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel." ¹⁶ And as he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the Sea; for they were fishermen. ¹⁷ And Jesus said to them, "Come follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men." ¹⁸ And immediately they left their nets and followed him. ¹⁹ When he had gone a little farther from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets. ²⁰ And immediately he called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and followed him.

⁴ When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch." ⁵ And Simon answered, "Master, we toiled all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets." ⁶ And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their nets were breaking.

³ Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will go with you." They went out and got into the boat; but that night they caught nothing.

⁴⁷ "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind;

¹⁹ And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."
