¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. ¹² "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be mastered by anything. ¹³ "Food is for the stomach and the stomach for food"but God will destroy them both. ¹⁴ Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. ¹⁵ See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness spring up and cause trouble, and by it many become defiled;

²³ Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, ²⁴ leave your gift there before the altar, and go. First be reconciled to your brother; and then come and offer your gift.

¹⁶ Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
