¹ My son, if you take my words And store up my instructions within you, ² Attending with your ear to wisdom, And you stretch out your heart to comprehension, ³ Indeed if you call out for understanding, And you lift up your voice for comprehension, ⁴ If you seek it as for silver And search for it as for buried treasures, ⁵ Then you shall understand the fear of Yahweh, And you shall find the knowledge of God." ⁶ For Yahweh Himself gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and comprehension; ⁷ He stores up sagacity for the upright, A shield for those walking with integrity, ⁸ So as to preserve the paths of judgment, And so He may guard the way of His benign ones." ⁹ Then you shall understand righteousness and right judgment, And you shall be upright in every good route;" ¹⁰ For wisdom shall come into your heart, And knowledge shall be pleasant to your soul." ¹¹ Foresight, it shall guard you; Comprehension, it shall preserve you, ¹² So as to rescue you from the way of evil, From the man who is speaking duplicity, ¹³ From those who forsake the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness, ¹⁴ Who rejoice in doing evil, Who exult in the duplicity of evil, ¹⁵ Whose paths are perverse, And who are devious in their routes." ¹⁶ This will also rescue you from the strange woman, Or from the foreign woman who makes her words slick, ¹⁷ Who forsakes the mentor of her youth, And who forgets the covenant of her Elohim." ¹⁸ For she slips down to death with her house And her routes to the Rephaim; ¹⁹ All who enter it shall not return, Nor shall they overtake the paths of life." ²⁰ Heed this that you may walk in the way of good men And keep to the paths of the righteous; ²¹ For the upright, they shall tabernacle in the land, And the flawless, they shall be left in it, ²² Yet the wicked, they shall be cut off from the land, And the treacherous, they shall be torn out from it."

⁶⁶ Teach me good discretion and knowledge, For I rely upon Your instructions."

⁶ My people shall be stilled because of failing knowledge, seeing that you reject knowledge. Then I am rejecting you from being a priest for Me, and as you are forgetting the law of your Elohim, I will forget your sons--even I."

⁸ For to one, indeed, through the spirit, is being given the word of wisdom, yet to another the word of knowledge, according to the same spirit"

¹⁴ The heart of the understanding person seeks knowledge, Yet the mouth of the stupid grazes on folly."

¹ My son, do not forget my law, And let your heart preserve my instructions;" ² For length of days and years of life And peace shall they add to you. ³ Benignity and truth, let them not forsake you; Tie them about your throat, And write them on the tablet of your heart." ⁴ Thus find grace and good intelligence In the eyes of Elohim and humanity. ⁵ Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, And do not lean to your own understanding." ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He Himself shall straighten your paths." ⁷ Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear Yahweh and withdraw from evil. ⁸ This shall mean health to your flesh And refreshing drink to your bones. ⁹ Glorify Yahweh with your wealth And with the firstfruits of all your income; ¹⁰ Then your granaries shall be filled to satisfaction, And grape juice shall breach your wine-vats." ¹¹ The discipline of Yahweh, my son, do not reject, And do not be irritated by His reproof, ¹² For whom Yahweh loves He corrects, And He gives pain to the son He holds dear." ¹³ Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains hold of comprehension, ¹⁴ For her merchandise is better than merchandise of silver, And her income than fine gold." ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies, So that all your desires are not equal to her." ¹⁶ Length of days are in her right hand, And in her left hand are riches and glory." ¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her tracks are peace." ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those holding fast to her, And those upholding her will be happy." ¹⁹ Yahweh, by wisdom, founded the earth; He established the heavens by comprehension." ²⁰ By His knowledge the abysses broke forth, And the skies drip down the night mist." ²¹ My son, let them not steal away from your eyes:Preserve sagacity and foresight, ²² So that they become life to your soul And grace to your throat. ²³ Then you shall go your way in trust And your foot, it shall not strike harm." ²⁴ Whenever you lie down you should not be afraid; Now you have lain down, and your sleep has been congenial." ²⁵ You shall certainly not fear sudden alarm Or the ruination of the wicked that is coming; ²⁶ For Yahweh Himself shall be your confidence, And He will keep your foot from seizure." ²⁷ Do not withhold good from one petitioning it, When it is at the disposal of your hands to act." ²⁸ Do not say to your associate, Go now and return, And tomorrow I shall give it, when it is already with you." ²⁹ Do not machinate evil against your associate, When he is dwelling in trust with you." ³⁰ Do not contend against a man gratuitously, When he has not dealt you evil." ³¹ Do not be jealous of the violent man, And do not choose any of his ways." ³² For the devious man is an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet His intimacy is with the upright." ³³ The curse of Yahweh is on the house of the wicked, Yet He blesses the homestead of the righteous." ³⁴ If as to mockers, He Himself mocks, So as to the humble, He gives grace." ³⁵ The wise are allotted glory, Yet the stupid are raised up to dishonor."

¹ He who loves admonition loves knowledge, Yet he who hates reproof is irrational."

⁵ A wise master is one with strength, And a man of knowledge is resolute with vigor;"

¹⁰ Take in my admonition, and do not prefer silver, And take knowledge rather than choice, fine gold."

⁷ The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; The foolish despise wisdom and discipline.

¹⁰ For wisdom shall come into your heart, And knowledge shall be pleasant to your soul."

¹⁵ The heart of one who understands acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."
