² All the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them:O that we had died in the land of Egypt or in this wilderness! O that we had died!

²⁷ How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, they who are grumbling against Me? I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel which they are grumbling against Me.

⁸ Nor yet may we be committing prostitution, according as some of them commit prostitution, and fall in one day twenty-three thousand." ⁹ Nor yet may we be putting the Lord on trial, according as some of them put Him on trial, and perished by serpents." ¹⁰ Nor yet be murmuring even as some of them murmur, and perished by the exterminator." ¹¹ Now all this befalls them typically. Yet it was written for our admonition, to whom the consummations of the eons have attained."

⁹ Be not groaning, brethren, against one another, lest you may be judged. Lo! the Judge stands before the doors."

⁴¹ The Jews, then, murmured concerning Him, that He said, "I am the Bread which descends out of heaven." ⁴² And they said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, with whose father and mother we are acquainted? How, then, is he saying that 'Out of heaven have I descended'? ⁴³ Jesus, then, answered and said to them, "Do not murmur with one another."

⁷ And in the morning then you will see the glory of Yahweh since He heard your grumblings against Yahweh. What are we that you are grumbling against us? ⁸ And Moses said: Since Yahweh gives to you in the evening flesh to eat and bread in the morning to satisfy, when Yahweh heard your grumblings which you are grumbling against Him, then what are we? Not against us are your grumblings, but rather against Yahweh.

¹⁴ All be doing without murmurings and reasonings, ¹⁵ that you may become blameless and artless, children of God, flawless, in the midst of a generation crooked and perverse among whom you are appearing as luminaries in the world, ¹⁶ having on the word of life, for my glorying in the day of Christ, that I did not run for naught, neither that I toil for naught."
