¹³ These you shall regard as abominable among the flyers; they shall not be eaten; they are an abomination:the vulture, the bearded vulture and the eagle,

¹³ Lo, as clouds he comes up, And as a hurricane his chariots, Lighter than eagles have been his horses, Woe to us, for we have been spoiled."

²² Lo, as an eagle he comes up, and flies, And he spreads his wings over Bozrah, And the heart of the mighty of Edom has been in that day, As the heart of a distressed woman!'"

¹⁰ As to the likeness of their faces, the face of a man, and the face of a lion, toward the right [are] to them four, and the face of an ox on the left [are] to them four, and the face of an eagle [are] to them four."

²⁷ Or is it by your bidding that the vulture soars aloft, And that he makes his nest so high? ²⁸ He roosts on a crag and lodges himself On the tooth of a crag and a fastness; ²⁹ From there he reconnoiters for food; His eyes scrutinize far off; ³⁰ His brood imbibe the blood, And where there are bodies wounded to death, there he is.

¹⁹ The way of the vulture in the heavens; The way of a serpent over a rock; The way of a ship in the heart of the sea; And the way of a master with a damsel.

⁶ And before the throne it is as a glassy sea, like crystal. And in the center of the throne and around the throne are four animals replete with eyes in front and behind." ⁷ And the first animal is like a lion, and the second animal is like a calf, and the third animal has a face like as a human being, and the fourth animal is like a flying vulture." ⁸ And the four animals, each one of them having six wings apiece, around and inside are replete with eyes. And they have no rest day and night, saying, "Holy! holy! holy! Lord God Almighty, Who wast and Who art and Who art coming!"

⁴ You have seen what I did to the Egyptians when I bore you on vultures' wings and brought you to Myself.

⁴⁰ For thus said Yahweh:Lo, as an eagle he does flee, And has spread his wings unto Moab."

¹⁴ And given to the woman were the two wings of a large vulture, that she may be flying into the wilderness into her place, there where she is nourished a season, and seasons, and half a season, from the face of the serpent."

⁵ Who is satisfying your future with good, So your youth is renewed like the vulture's."

³¹ Yet those stretching toward Yahweh will vary their vigor, and they shall ascend on pinions as vultures. They shall run, and not be weary. They shall go, and not faint."
