Leviticus 26:1-46

1 You shall not make forbidden idols for yourselves, nor set up carvings and monuments for yourselves, nor put a stone picture in your land to bow yourself down before it, for I, Yahweh, am your Elohim. 2 Instead My sabbaths shall you observe, and My sanctuary shall you fear:I am Yahweh. 3 If you walk by My statutes and observe My instructions and keep them, 4 then I will give your downpours in their season, and the land will give its crop, and the tree of the field shall give its fruit. 5 Your threshing will overtake the vintage, and the vintage, it shall overtake the sowing; you will eat your bread to satisfaction and dwell in trust in your land. 6 I will give peace in the land, and you will lie down with no one making you tremble; I will eradicate the vicious animal from the land, and no sword shall pass through your land. 7 You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword;" 8 five of you will pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you shall pursue a myriad, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword. 9 I will countenance you, make you fruitful, increase you and confirm My covenant with you. 10 You will eat stored stores and bring forth the stores in view of the new. 11 I will put My tabernacle in your midst, and My soul shall not loathe you. 12 I will walk about in your midst and will be your Elohim and you, you shall be My people. 13 I, Yahweh, am your Elohim Who brought you forth from the land of Egypt, from being servants to them. I have broken the slider bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk upraised. 14 Yet if you neither hearken to Me nor observe all these instructions, 15 and if you reject My statutes, and if your soul loathes My judgments so as not to observe all My instructions, to cause you to annul My covenant, 16 indeed, I Myself shall do this to you:I will visit panic upon you, attenuation and fever, making the eyesight vanish and causing the soul to pine; and you will sow your seed for naught, for your enemies will eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those hating you will hold sway over you, and you will flee even when there is no one pursuing you. 18 And if, after these things, you should not hearken to Me, then I will continue to discipline you sevenfold for your sins. 19 I will break the pomp of your strength and make your heavens like iron and your land like copper. 20 Your vigor will be spent for naught, and your land shall not give its crop, and the tree of the field shall not give its fruit. 21 If you go contrary to Me and are not willing to hearken to Me, then I will add smitings to you sevenfold according to your sins. 22 I will send the animal of the field against you, and it will bereave you, cut off your domestic beasts and so decrease you that your roads will be desolated. 23 If by these you should not be disciplined for Me and go contrary to Me, 24 then I will, indeed, go contrary to you, and I Myself will even smite you sevenfold for your sins. 25 I will bring the sword on you avenging the vengeance of the covenant. When you will be gathered into your cities then I will send the plague into your midst, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy. 26 When I break the stock of bread for you then ten women will bake your bread in one stove and return your bread by weight so that you will eat and not be satisfied. 27 If by this you should not hearken to Me and go contrary to Me, 28 then I will go contrary to you in fury. And I Myself, indeed, will discipline you sevenfold for your sins. 29 You will eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. 30 I will exterminate your fane heights, cut down your incense stands and bestow your corpses upon the corpses of your idol clods; thus My soul will loathe you. 31 I will turn your cities into a desert and make your sanctuary desolate; I shall not smell your fragrant odor. 32 I will make the land so desolate, that your enemies, the ones dwelling in it, will be dejected over it. 33 And you I shall winnow among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you so that your land will become a desolation and your cities become a desert. 34 Then the land shall accept its sabbaths all the days of its desolation when you are in the land of your enemies. Then the land shall pause for a sabbath and cause its missing sabbaths to be accepted. 35 All the days of its desolation it shall pause for a sabbath, which days it did not pause in your sabbath years when you dwelt on it. 36 As for the remainder among you, I will also bring timidity into their heart in the lands of their enemies so that the sound of a leaf being whisked away will pursue them, and they will flee as if in flight from the sword; they will fall even when there is no one pursuing. 37 They will stumble, a man over his brother, as though in view of the sword when there is no pursuer, and you shall come to have no standing space before your enemies. 38 You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will devour you. 39 The remainder among you shall be putrid over their depravity in the lands of your enemies, and also over the depravities of their fathers with them shall they be putrid. 40 If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M. 41 so that I Myself also went contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies), if then their uncircumcised heart should submit, and if then they should accept their depravity, 42 then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac; also My covenant with Abraham shall I remember, and the land shall I remember. 43 Yet the land, it shall be forsaken of them and shall accept its sabbath years while it is desolate without them, and they themselves shall accept their depravity because, yes because they had rejected My judgments and their soul had loathed My statutes. 44 Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them nor loathe them so as to finish them, to annul My covenant with them, for I, Yahweh, am their Elohim. 45 For their benefit I will remember the covenant with the former ones whom I brought forth from the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations to be their Elohim; I am Yahweh. 46 These are the statutes, the judgments and the laws which Yahweh put between Him and the sons of Israel on Mount Sinai by means of Moses.

Matthew 4:1-25

1 Then Jesus was led up into the wilderness by the spirit to be tried by the Adversary. 2 And, fasting forty days and forty nights, subsequently He hungers. 3 And, approaching, the trier said to Him, "If you are God's Son, say that these stones may be becoming cakes of bread." 4 Yet He, answering, said, "It is written, 'Not on bread alone shall man be living, but on every declaration going out through the mouth of God.'" 5 Then the Adversary is taking Him along into the holy city, and stands Him on the wing of the sanctuary. 6 And he is saying to Him. "If you are God's Son, cast yourself down, for it is written that
'His messengers shall be directed concerning Thee'
and
'On their hands shall they be lifting Thee,
Lest at some time Thou shouldst be dashing Thy foot against a stone.'" 7 Jesus averred to him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not be putting on trial the Lord your God.'" 8 Again the Adversary takes Him along into a very high mountain, and is showing Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, "All these to you will I be giving, if ever, falling down, you should be worshiping me." 10 Then Jesus is saying to him, "Go away, Satan, for it is written,
The Lord your God shall you be worshiping,
And to Him only shall you be offering divine service." 11 Then the Adversary is leaving Him. And lo! messengers approached and waited on Him. 12 Now, hearing that John was given up, He retires into Galilee, 13 and, leaving Nazareth, coming, He dwells in Capernaum, which is beside the sea in the boundaries of Zebulon and Naphtali, 14 that that may be fulfilled which is declared through Isaiah the prophet, saying, 15 The land of Zebulon and the land of Naphtali,
The sea road the other side of the Jordan, Galilee of the nations- 16 The people sitting in darkness perceived a great light,
And to those sitting in the province and shadow of death, light arises for them. 17 Thenceforth begins Jesus to be heralding and saying, "Repent! for near is the kingdom of the heavens!" 18 Now, walking beside the sea of Galilee, He perceived two brothers, Simon, termed Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a purse net into the sea, for they were fishers. 19 And He is saying to them, "Hither! After Me, and I will be making you fishers of men!" 20 Now immediately leaving the nets, they follow Him. 21 And, advancing thence, He perceived two others, brothers, James of Zebedee and John, his brother, in the ship with Zebedee, their father, adjusting their nets. And He calls them. 22 Now, immediately leaving the ship and their father, they follow Him. 23 And Jesus led them about in the whole of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and heralding the evangel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and every debility among the people. 24 And forth came the tidings of Him into the whole of Syria. And they bring to Him all who have an illness, those with various diseases and pressing torments, also demoniacs and epileptics and paralytics, and He cures them. 25 And there follow Him vast throngs from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and the other side of the Jordan.

Matthew 26:52-54

52 Then Jesus is saying to him, "Turn away your sword into its place, for all those taking the sword, by the sword shall perish." 53 Or are you supposing that I am not able to entreat My Father, and at present He will station by My side more than twelve legions of messengers? 54 How, then, may the scriptures be fulfilled, seeing that thus it must occur?

Mark 7:1-37

1 And gathering to Him are the Pharisees and some of the scribes coming from Jerusalem. 2 And perceiving some of His disciples, that with contaminated (that is, unwashed) hands they eat bread" 3 (for the Pharisees and all the Jews, if ever they should not be washing the hands with the fist, are not eating, holding the tradition of the elders;" 4 and from the market, except they should be sprinkled, they are not eating; and many other things are there which they accepted to hold, the baptizing of cups and ewers and copper vessels and of couches), 5 the Pharisees also, and the scribes are inquiring of Him, "Wherefore are not your disciples walking according to the tradition of the elders, but with unwashed hands are eating bread? 6 Yet He, answering, said to them that "Ideally prophesies Isaiah concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, that This people with their lips is honoring Me, Yet their heart is away at a distance from Me." 7 Yet in vain are they revering Me, teaching for teachings the directions of men." 8 For, leaving the precept of God, you are holding the tradition of men of the baptism of ewers and cups. And many such like things you are doing." 9 And He said to them, "Ideally are you repudiating the precept of God, that you should be keeping your tradition." 10 For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, He who is saying aught that is evil of father or mother, let him decease in death." 11 Yet you are saying, 'If a man should be saying to father or mother, "A corban (which is an approach present) is whatsoever you may be benefitted by me,'" 12 no longer are you letting him do anything for his father or his mother, 13 invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you give over. And many such like things you are doing." 14 And calling the throng to Him again, He said to them, "Hear Me, all, and understand." 15 Nothing is there outside of a man, going into him, which can contaminate him, but those things going out of a man are what is contaminating the man." 16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!" 17 And when He entered into the house from the throng, His disciples inquired of Him concerning the parable." 18 And He is saying to them, "Are you, also, thus unintelligent? Not yet are you apprehending that everything from the outside, that is going into a man, can not contaminate him, 19 for it is not going into his heart, but into the bowels, and is going out into the latrine - cleansing all foods? 20 Yet He said that "That which is going out of a man, that is contaminating the man." 21 For from inside, out of the heart of men, are going out evil reasonings, prostitutions, thefts, murders, 22 adulteries, greed, wickedness, guile, wantonness, a wicked eye, calumny, pride, imprudence." 23 All these wicked inside things are going out; and those are contaminating the man." 24 Now, rising thence, He came away into the frontiers of Tyre and Sidon. And entering into a house, He wants no one to know, and He can not elude them, 25 but straightway, a woman, hearing about Him, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, entering, prostates at His feet." 26 Now the woman was a Greek, a native of Syro-Phoenicia, and she asked Him that He should be casting the demon out of her daughter." 27 Yet Jesus said to her, "Let first the children be satisfied, for it is not ideal to take the children's bread and cast it to the puppies." 28 Yet she answered and is saying to Him, "Yes, Lord. For the puppies also, underneath the table, are eating the scraps from the little children." 29 And He said to her, "Because of this saying, go. The demon has come out of your daughter." 30 And coming away into her own house, she found the little girl prostrate on the couch, and the demon come out." 31 And, again, coming out of the boundaries of Tyre, He came through Sidon to the sea of Galilee, amidst the boundaries of the Decapolis." 32 And they are bringing to Him a deaf stammerer, and they are entreating Him that He may place His hand on him." 33 And, getting him away from the throng privately, He thrusts His fingers into his ears, and, spitting, touches his tongue." 34 And, looking up into heaven, He groans, and is saying to him, "Ephphatha, which is, "Be opened up." 35 And immediately, opened up was his hearing, and straightway was loosed the bond of his tongue, and he spoke correctly." 36 And He cautions them that they may be telling no one, yet, as much as He cautioned them, they rather heralded it more exceedingly." 37 And they were superexceedingly astonished, saying, "Ideally has He done all! The deaf He is making to be hearing, as well as the dumb to be speaking."
