6 For the Lord had made the Syrian army to hear a sound of chariots, and a sound of horses, even the sound of a great army. And each man said to his fellow, Now has the king of Israel hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Egypt, to come against us.

3 Know that the Lord, He is God; He made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
17 I will not allow any weapon formed against you to prosper; and every voice that shall rise up against you for judgment, you shall vanquish them all; and your adversaries shall be condemned thereby. There is an inheritance to them that serve the Lord, and you shall be righteous before Me, says the Lord.
7 let the ungodly leave his ways, and the transgressor his counsels; and let him return to the Lord, and he shall find mercy; for He shall abundantly pardon your sins. 8 For My counsels are not as your counsels, nor are My ways as your ways, says the Lord. 9 But as the heaven is distant from the earth, so is My way distant from your ways, and your thoughts from My mind. 10 For as the rain shall come down, or snow from heaven, and shall not return until it has saturated the earth, and it bring forth and bud, and give seed to the sower, and bread for food;
43 Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
1 James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. 2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 But let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing, for he that doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he shall receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. 9 Let the lowly brother rejoice in his exaltation, 10 but the rich man in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. 11 For the sun arose with burning heat and withered the grass, and its flower fell off, and its beautiful appearance perished. So the rich man also shall fade away in his pursuits. 12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; because when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted by his own lusts, being drawn away and being seduced by them. 15 Then lust, when it conceives, gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Exercising His will He begat us by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. 19 So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore laying aside all filthiness and abundance of evil, in meekness receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But become doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, this one is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observed himself and has gone away, and immediately forgot what sort of man he was. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one shall be blessed in what he does. 26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceiving his heart, the religion of this man is useless. 27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
1 O Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 We brought a report as of a child before Him; He is as a root in a thirsty land; He has no form, nor comeliness; and we saw Him, but He had no form nor beauty. 3 But His form was ignoble, and inferior to that of the children of men; He was a man in suffering, and acquainted with the bearing of sickness, for His face has turned from us; He was dishonored, and not esteemed. 4 He bears our sins, and is pained for us; yet we accounted Him to be in trouble, and in suffering, and in affliction. 5 But He was wounded on account of our sins, and was bruised because of our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; everyone has gone astray in his way; and the Lord gave Him up for our sins. 7 And He, because of His affliction, opened not His mouth; He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so He opened not His mouth. 8 In His humiliation His judgment was taken away; who shall declare His generation? For His life is taken away from the earth; because of the iniquities of My people He was led to death. 9 And I will give the wicked for His burial, and the rich for His death; for He practiced no iniquity, nor craft with His mouth. 10 The Lord also is pleased to purge Him from His stroke. If you give an offering for sin, Your soul shall see a long-lived seed; 11 the Lord also is pleased to take away from the travail of His soul, to show Him light, and to form Him with understanding; to justify the just one who serves many well; and He shall bear their sins. 12 Therefore He shall inherit many, and He shall divide the spoils of the mighty; because His soul was delivered to death; and He was numbered among the transgressors; and He bore the sins of many, and was delivered up because of their transgressions.
11 And I will devise for you a plan of peace, and not evil, to bestow upon you these good things.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men seize it.
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
18 through every prayer and petition, praying in every season in the Spirit, being watchful to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints--
12 For the word of God is living and effectual, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
1 Alleluia. Give thanks to the Lord; for He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 2 Let now the house of Israel say that He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 3 Let now the house of Aaron say that He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 4 Let now all that fear the Lord say that He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 5 I called on the Lord out of affliction; and He hearkened to me, and brought me into a wide place. 6 The Lord is my helper; and I will not fear, what shall man do to me? 7 The Lord is my helper; and I shall see my desire upon my enemies. 8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man. 9 It is better to hope in the Lord, than to hope in princes. 10 All the nations surrounded me; but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them. 11 They completely compassed me about; but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them. 12 They compassed me about as bees do a honeycomb, and they burst into flame as fire among thorns; but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them. 13 I was thrust, and sorely shaken, that I might fall; but the Lord helped me. 14 The Lord is my strength and my song, and has become my salvation. 15 The voice of exaltation and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous; the right hand of the Lord has done mightily. 16 The right hand of the Lord has exalted me; the right hand of the Lord has done powerfully. 17 I shall not die, but live, and recount the works of the Lord. 18 The Lord has chastened me sore; but He has not given me up to death.
1 A Psalm of David. Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His praises; 3 who forgives all your transgressions, who heals all your diseases; 4 who redeems your life from corruption; who crowns you with mercy and compassion; 5 who satisfies your desire with good things; so that your youth shall be renewed like that of the eagle. 6 The Lord executes mercy and judgment for all that are injured. 7 He made known His ways to Moses, and His will to the children of Israel. 8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, longsuffering, and full of mercy. 9 He will not always be angry; neither will He be wrathful forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor recompensed us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, the Lord has so increased His mercy toward them that fear Him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father pities his children, the Lord pities them that fear Him. 14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. 15 As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so shall he flourish. 16 For the wind passes over it, and it shall not be; and it shall know its place no more. 17 But the mercy of the Lord is from generation to generation upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children; 18 to them that keep His covenant, and remember His commandments, to do them. 19 The Lord has prepared His throne in the heaven; and His kingdom rules over all. 20 Bless the Lord, all you His angels, mighty in strength, who do His bidding, ready to hearken to the voice of His words. 21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts; you ministers of His that do His will. 22 Bless the Lord, all His works, in every place of His dominion; bless the Lord, O my soul.
13 they have broken through, and passed the gate, and gone out by it, and their king has gone out before them, and the Lord shall lead them.
3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who keep the things having been written in it; for the time is near.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies.
