¹ Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus being in Philippi, with the overseers and deacons:

² Therefore it behooves the overseer to be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

²⁵ For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

⁶ if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having believing children, not under accusation of debauchery, or insubordinate. ⁷ For it behooves the overseer to be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-willed, not quick tempered, not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy of base gain,

¹ I exhort the elders among you, a fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory being about to be revealed: ² Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but willingly according to God; and not for base gain but eagerly, ³ not as exercising lordship over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. ⁴ And the Chief Shepherd having been revealed, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

²⁸ Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has set you overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which He purchased with the own blood.
