²⁹ Do not let any unwholesome word go forth out of your mouth, but only good, for edification of the need, so that it may give grace to those hearing.

⁴ and filthiness, and foolish talking, or crude joking, which are not fitting, but rather thanksgiving.

² And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, for you to prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.

⁵ Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from God, the One giving generously to all and not finding fault, and it will be given to him.

³ first knowing this, that in the last days scoffers will come with scoffing, following according to their own evil desires, ⁴ and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For from the time that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” ⁵ For this is concealed from them willingly, that heavens existed long ago and the earth, having been composed out of water and through water, by the word of God, ⁶ through which the world at that time perished, having been deluged with water. ⁷ But by the same word now the heavens and the earth exist, having been stored up for fire, being kept unto the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
