¹⁸ And as they were reclining and were eating, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you that one of you who is eating with Me will betray Me.” ¹⁹ They began to be grieved and to say to Him one by one, “Surely not I?” ²⁰ And He said to them, “It is one of the Twelve, the one dipping in the bowl with Me. ²¹ For indeed the Son of Man goes as it has been written concerning Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed; it were better for him if that man had not been born.”

⁴⁷ And as He is still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the Twelve, came, and with him great a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people. ⁴⁸ And the one betraying Him gave them a sign, saying, “Whomever I shall kiss, it is He; seize Him.” ⁴⁹ And having come up to Jesus immediately, he said, “Greetings, Rabbi,” and kissed Him. ⁵⁰ And Jesus said to him, “Friend, for what are you come?” Then having approached, they laid hands on Jesus and seized Him.

³ Then Judas, the one having delivered Him up, having seen that He was condemned, having regretted it, he returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, ⁴ saying, “I sinned, having betrayed innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You will see.” ⁵ And having cast down the pieces of silver into the temple, he withdrew, and having gone away, hanged himself.

²¹ And as they were eating, He said to them, “Truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me.” ²² And being grieved exceedingly, they began, each one, to say to Him, “Is it I, Lord?” ²³ And answering He said, “The one having dipped the hand in the dish with Me, he will betray Me. ²⁴ Indeed the Son of Man goes as it has been written about Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for him if that man had not been born.” ²⁵ And Judas who was betraying Him, answering, said, “Is it I, Rabbi?” He says to him, “You have said.”

²⁷ And after the morsel, then Satan entered into him. Therefore Jesus says to him, “What you do, do quickly.”

² Now Judas, who was delivering Him up, also knew the place, because Jesus often gathered together there with His disciples. ³ Therefore Judas, having procured the cohort and officers from the chief priests and from the Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons. ⁴ Therefore Jesus, knowing all things that are coming upon Him, having gone forth, also said to them, “Whom do you seek?” ⁵ They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” He says to them, “I am He.” Now Judas, who is delivering Him up, also had been standing with them.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And one of you is a devil!”

¹⁶ “Men, brothers, it was necessary for the Scripture to have been fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, the one having become guide to those having arrested Jesus.

¹⁴ Then one of the Twelve, the one being called Judas Iscariot, having gone to the chief priests, ¹⁵ said, “What are you willing to give me, and I will betray Him to you?” And they appointed to him thirty pieces of silver. ¹⁶ And from that time, he was seeking an opportunity that he might betray Him.

² And supper taking place, the devil already having put into the heart of Judas son of Simon Iscariot that he should betray Him,

³ And Satan entered into Judas the one being called Iscariot, being of the number of the Twelve. ⁴ And having gone away, he spoke with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. ⁵ And they rejoiced and agreed to give him money. ⁶ And he promised, and began seeking opportunity to betray Him to them apart from a crowd.

⁶ But he said this, not because he was caring for the poor, but because he was a thief; and having the money bag, he used to pilfer that being put into it.

¹² When I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name, which You have given Me. And I guarded them, and none of them has perished, except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

¹⁸ I speak not about all of you. I know whom I chose; but it is that the Scripture may be fulfilled: ‘The one eating My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’ ¹⁹ I am telling you from this time, before it comes to pass, so that when it comes to pass you should believe that I am He. ²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, the one receiving whomever I shall send, receives Me; and the one receiving Me, receives the One having sent Me.” ²¹ Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and He testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will betray Me.” ²² The disciples began to look upon one another, being uncertain of whom He is speaking. ²³ There was reclining one of His disciples whom Jesus loved in the bosom of Jesus. ²⁴ Therefore Simon Peter motions to him, to ask who it is about whom He is speaking? ²⁵ Then he thus having leaned on the breast of Jesus, says to Him, “Lord, who is it?” ²⁶ Then Jesus answers, “It is he to whom I will dip the morsel and will give him.” Then having dipped the morsel, He takes it and gives it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot.

¹⁸ (Then indeed this man acquired a field out of the reward of unrighteousness, and having fallen headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.

⁴ But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, being about to betray Him, says, ⁵ “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” ⁶ But he said this, not because he was caring for the poor, but because he was a thief; and having the money bag, he used to pilfer that being put into it.

¹⁶ “Men, brothers, it was necessary for the Scripture to have been fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, the one having become guide to those having arrested Jesus. ¹⁷ For he was numbered with us, and was allotted a share of this ministry.” ¹⁸ (Then indeed this man acquired a field out of the reward of unrighteousness, and having fallen headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out. ¹⁹ And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.) ²⁰ “For it has been written in the book of Psalms: ‘Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be not one dwelling in it,’ and, ‘Let another take his position.’ ²¹ Therefore it behooves the men having accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us, ²² having begun from the baptism of John until the day in which He was taken up from us, one of these, to become a witness with us of His resurrection.” ²³ And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was called Justus, and Matthias. ²⁴ And having prayed, they said, “You Lord, knower of the hearts of all, show which one of these two You have chosen ²⁵ to take the place of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas turned aside to go to the own place.”

³ Then Judas, the one having delivered Him up, having seen that He was condemned, having regretted it, he returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, ⁴ saying, “I sinned, having betrayed innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You will see.” ⁵ And having cast down the pieces of silver into the temple, he withdrew, and having gone away, hanged himself. ⁶ And the chief priests, having taken the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.” ⁷ And having taken counsel, they bought with them the potter’s field, for a burial place for strangers. ⁸ Therefore that field was called Field of Blood, to this day. ⁹ Then was fulfilled that having been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of the One having been priced, whom they set a price on by the sons of Israel, ¹⁰ and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.”

⁶⁷ Therefore Jesus said to the Twelve, “You are not wishing to go away also?” ⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed and have known that You are the Holy One of God.” ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And one of you is a devil!” ⁷¹ Now He was speaking of Judas son of Simon Iscariot; for he, one of the Twelve, was about to betray Him.

⁵ And having cast down the pieces of silver into the temple, he withdrew, and having gone away, hanged himself.

⁴³ And immediately while yet He is speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, comes up, and with Him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. ⁴⁴ And the one delivering Him up had given to them a sign, saying: “Whomever I shall kiss is He; seize Him and lead Him away securely.” ⁴⁵ And having arrived, having come up to Him immediately, he says, “Rabbi!” And he kissed Him.
